    Single ATI Mobility 3870 scores

    I recently switched back to Windows Vista HP 64 Bit. I noticed I gotten a better 3dmark06 score with Vista then with Windows 7. I am using 9.10 (Newest) drivers.
    I am wondering what other people have gotten in 3dmark06, I do have it overclocked, CPU is Intel P8600 oc'd to 2.96GHz and GPU is 75MHz and 100MHz.

    I scored 10,799 at 1280 x 1024, which is good I believe for a single 3870 card. Please let me know your opinions. Thank you.

    Processor=5.7 Processor=6.6
    Memory=5.9 Memory=6.8
    Graphics=5.9 Graphics=7.1
    Gaming Graphics=5.9 Gaming Graphics=7.1
    Hard Disk=5.7 Hard Disk=5.9

    Windows 7 64Bit

    Processor=6.6
    Memory=6.8
    Graphics=7.1
    Gaming Graphics=7.1
    Hard Disk=5.9

    This was upgraded (The GPU) from a 9600m GT to the 3870. I just needed the heatsink from a GT735 which I obtained from MSI. This upgrade took about 45 minutes to do without any problems. The cooling is great with the highest temp being 78c.

    If you want the highest 3dmark06 score, go to xp. I don't know about windows 7, but I believe xp always got higher scores then vista in 3dmark06.

    I would never use windows score for any sort of comparison.

    Mind running vantage? I'm familiar with crossfire scores, but not a single 3870.

    Why does it say 3870x 2 for graphics card ??? Is it reading incorrectly ??? Thanks for any info. God Bless :)

    It will say that if you dont edit the inf file. I surely dont have CF in an MSI laptop. I cant use vantage being I used the trial already. I can but it wont show me my score and I dont want to buy the darn thing either.

    Approaching 260M, not even close to the 280M which can easily pull 12,000+.

    Use a different email address to get another trial key. For example, if you have a wife/girlfriend, she probably hasn't used her free vantage key :)

    I tried that and it didnt work, probably because I have it installed on my laptop if you know what I mean. I just dont want to buy it because I dont use it much. I will try to reinstall it with a diffrent trial key and see what happens.

    nice. you beat some of my single 3870 runs with my t9400 stock.

    vista has better gpu performance well 7 has better cpu performance. i have tested it on my sager np9262...

    That is overclocked, CPU 24% and GPU Core 715, memory 925.

    I wont push it any further because I am selling it and dont want to mess anything up. I am just glad I could share my upgrade with others and to post how it preforms.
