    Hi NBR.

Currently, I have 4GB DDR3 RAM 1333MHz Single Channel. I'm thinking of getting 2GB DDR3 1333MHz to make dual channel.

I don't know if it's worth it, because I can buy other things for the laptop with the money.

So what do you think guys ?

Both RAM cards have to be identical for it to work in Dual-Channel mode.

No they don't. They can work in asymmetrical dual channel which is nearly as effective as full dual channel.

bro, what else do you want to buy except for a 2GB 1333 stick? I would say upgrade your ram, which will help with your windows experience, but don't expect anything in terms of gaming..

Thanks guys. Well, I was thinking of buying a new mouse and maybe a keyboard.
I hope I can afford buying the RAM, thermal paste, mouse and a keyboard :D

One last question, I'm going to buy a Kingston stick ( DDR3 1333MHz of course ) . Will it be compatible with the one I have :

Unless you are using an IGP such as HD4000 or 6620G for gaming, more RAM will always trump faster RAM. As long as you match speed, you should be fine, though I try to keep all my RAM in any machine identical for compatability's sake. I had a machine that refused to POST with mismatched RAM, and the wife was getting random BSODs that were eventually tracked down to incompatible RAM, though both sticks tested good individually. I understand it's supposed to work in theory, but it seems hit or miss in practice.

There is always that possibility of errors with mismatched RAM, but it is quit uncommon any more. These days with RAM so cheap though you can find 8GB kits for $35-$40. Even if you don't match speeds the faster ones usually will clock to the slower speed anyhow. Plus you're talking $5 difference between 2GB and 4GB stick, so if nothing else splurge for the 4GB stick.
