I just recieved my new dv9500t from HP yesterday. Here are the specs:
- Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit)
- Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor T5450 (1.66 GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB)
- 17.0" WXGA+ High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1440 x 900)
- 2GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
- 511MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS
- 240GB 5400RPM SATA Dual Hard Drive (120GB x 2)
So I was wondering what good single player games are there. If you can play it on the 360, dont mention it.
I enjoy playing Real-Time Strategy, but not necessarily Turn-based strategy.
I've already decided that im getting Oblivion and its expansion as well as Medieval II: total war. What else can you suggest me that should do fine on my laptop (which im sure is most things)

CnC3 and GRAW
-
Get CC3 Tiberium Wars,Age of Empire 3, Rise of Nations..... if you like RTS. Good choice on the Oblivion too ! Also be sure to check out NWN 2,Titan Quest if you are looking for a decent single player RPG.
-
what is GRAW?
and I was definitely looking into AoE and AoM.
I'll also look at NWN 2, I know i bought the first NWN and I never played it, mainly because I couldnt figure it out, but that was years ago and I'm sure I'd do well with the new one. I'll also check out Titan Quest. -
Company of Heroes. Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. STALKER.
-
GRAW= ghost recon advanced warfighter =)
-
Except the fact that he said don't mention 360 games, and GRAW is a 360 game.
-
Medieval 2 total war, CoH. i still play AoE2 so i really can't talk.
Also patrician 3. its as old as hell, but i've been playing it heaps of late. really addictive. -
Graw (not sure about graw 2) is also for the pc
-
AOE 2 is better than AOE 3 IMO. What do you guys think ?

If your into RPGs try Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I have over 80 hours of gameplay right now.
If your into RPG-ish FPSs try S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadows of Chernobyl. Some of my friends didnt like the game but I did. -
Age of Wind: Yeah, AoE II is way better than AoE III. I used to have my username as "aoetwo" on many things in the past. Runescpae, mail.com, etc. I still play it a lot. You just can't beat that old-style build up and attack gameplay. None of this fancy "hide behind the tombstones in the cemetery while you shoot at the building" stuff. (Although I've never played CoH. Seems fun.)
OP, I would recommend... Black and White. It was lotsa fun. Kinda RPG. But it's more of a god-game. You play a god, and you control your people, your creature, etc. Not sure about Black and White 2, though. -

In my opinion, Red Faction is still the best first person shooter.
EDIT:
Quake II is a close second because you can play through the entire game. Then replay the game with each mod. I forgot the number of times I replayed that game. Quake II has the best mods of any game. -
black and White 1 and 2 kicked ass. Thankyou all for your suggestions. I dont really mind the whole 360 thing, i was just being picky when i said it, there will be some games ill get for the computer (like oblivion) rather than the 360. I just knew that everyone would mention r6v and oblivion and a few others that i already knew about.
ill definitely check out stalker and the other games as well. -
I know how you feel about Red Faction ! Love that blasting through walls feauture !!
