I'm looking for a way to see what configurations/settings are the most recommended to play Far Cry in a A8Js - Core 2 duo 7200 ; 2gb ram ; and an nvidia 7700 GPU... of course i'm looking for the top performance, right to the point that If u set anything higher than that it will start to slow down.....
I'm making this question because knowing the awesome results that the gpu scored in 3D mark, i was convinced i would be able to push everything to the max of a game like far cry, that inspite of Having some age by now still as stunning grafics, but that just backfired slowing the whole process to an indigestable result. could some one show me the way?

point some sites? tell me what relies on what of each setting?
    anything?

Max Everything Thing except AA and AF, keep AA at 2x and AF around 8x.

This site is pretty good. Those game guides are great. There's also a lot of info for optimizing your whole system for best performance.

    640x480, everything at minimum settings.

It's fairly simple. *Every* feature you enable carries a performance cost. YOu can only get max performance by disabling as many features as possible, by setting everything to minimum detail levels.

So what is recommended is to simply try to find some setting that suits you. As long as it's running too slow for your tastes, lower some settings. If it's running smoothly, try to raise the detail level and see if it still runs ok.
