I just got Skyrim and didn't know what graphics settings to use, so I decided to benchmark with Fraps at different settings:
GPU: GTX460m overclocked (810 core/1620 shader/1625 memory)
CPU: i7 740qm
Low
Resolution/AA/FPS
1366x768/none/51.8
1920x1080/none/54.7
Medium
Resolution/AA/FPS
1366x768/none/50.4
1600x900/none/50.6
1920x1080/none/50.3
1366x768/2X/51
1920x1080/2X/50
1920x1080/4X/50.3
1920x1080/8X/45.1
High
Resolution/AA/FPS
1920x1080/none/49
1920x1080/2X/49.2
1920x1080/4X/47.9
1366x768/2X/48.5
1366x768/4X/48.2
Ultra
Resolution/AA/FPS
1920x1080/none/46.2
Could someone explain why the difference in FPS between different resolutions and settings is so minimal?. I would think it's a CPU bottleneck, but I don't think so since I have an i7.

average fps using 1080p and ultra settings is 46??!! :O
Is it outside or inside? Any chance of running it in stock and possibly a video -
NOW, Can't wait to see some frames with an i7-2630QM w/ GTX 460m -

I've read that Skyrim only makes use of 2 cores even on a quad, so it's very possible that your CPU is the limiting factor here. Just crank the settings to Ultra, turn up the AA/AF, and enjoy the game

The maximum clocks I manage to get with my 460m is 775/1550/1450, even though nearly everyone else seem to be getting at LEAST 800/1600/1500...

Thanks for confirming! -
what are your temps under those speeds, cause this card overclocks pretty nicely -
