Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Feature: Building Modern Warfare 3 (Xbox 360) - GameSpot Video
An interview from Sledgehammer Games. They go on and on about how dedicated they are to perfection and 95 rating scenarios etc.
They also go on and on about their past work, which has always been in support role. I can't believe they spent time as if to say they were original and creative with Dead Space when that game wasn't even close to being original. Yeah none of us have played a space horror game with guns for the past two decades... right...
- Which BTW I thought Dead Space was a pretty bad console port on the PC job. Good job Sledgehammer for doing a mediocre porting from console to PC (True dedication to quality and 95 rating work...), or whoever you outsourced to. Big round of applause. Too bad the sequel done by Visceral Games did a better job than you did.
The ego expressed by these dudes I think is enormous considering this studio hasn't done anything yet and MW3 is only their lead because the MW2 left and said _l_ Acvitivision.
This has to be the most ridiculous interview I've ever seen. They even imply somehow they did MW and MW2. Never making it clear that they didn't have much to do with the previous games at all.

Another interview explaining who Sledgehammer Games are. They make it sound very glorious.
When reality is, Activision created a studio to support their other headline studios before those studios said sayonara to Activision. These are the rejects from EA Redwood, is the real story.
Then they go on about how it's a pleasure to work with such a devoted, and experienced studio with FPS games like Infinity Ward... Yeah... that Infinity Ward that worked on MW2 doesn't exist!
These two interviews is the most bullcrap marketing I've ever seen from a gaming studio. Making MW3 true to realism... OMG, are you serious? Modern Warfare realistic?
-
Infinity Ward ruined MW2 for me and that stigma will never be removed from COD games for me...
-
I will buy MW3 and I will probably like it, but not because it's realistic.
Black Ops was crap. I liked MW and MW2 though. -
"True to realism" is Ghost Recon 1. Nothing with regenerating health and bunny-hopping jumping ever has been or will be realistic, no matter how detailed the models are.

-
I can't tolerate MW multiplayer, but the single player is pretty good.
-
I would like to see a real "Modern Warfare" game where 90% of the game you're pulling guard/doing extra duties. Then when you finally get into a firefight you runaway and call for air support.
-
I find the desire to make war games "more realistic" a little depressing (because war is hell, not fun) and a little inaccurate (as it generally means "more Jerry Bruckheimer," not "more realism"). I much prefer the approach of shooters like Halo or Team Fortress II, where they realize that there is no possible way to make capture the frickin' flag reflect "realistic warfare" and they don't even try to do so. -
Eh, either situation is as likely to happen. Just depends where you're at I guess. Last deployment it was all IEDs and no real enemy. This deployment they're actually fighting us a little.
But yes, I prefer games that aren't realistic and don't try to pretend to be. I'd rather shoot lasers and homing missiles and crap like that (Big UT fan, before they started sucking). -
I like games that are tactical and I do like games with great gun mechanics. I like a good iron sight, recoil, bullets that don't kill everyone in one shot.
But these games where you play as a US killing Russians, killing Afghanistans, killing Germans, etc, is just getting old.
Games should be games. Don't need to pump them full of political statements or other bs, because these studios suck really hard at doing it and it just makes a mockering of it all. Why can't we have a nice tactical game with great gun mechanics invading Strogg Planet or on some Dead Space space station. I love those games, but their gun mechanics are terrible and so very not tactical...
That's why even though some may disagree with me, but Crysis 2 has been my favorite FPS game in the past two years. I liked it more than MW2, more than BC2 or any other FPS game. It had great gun mechanics, I like some of the tactical, the powers were a nice touch and I was killing aliens and not other humans (most of the time) and if they were humans (they were just some corrupt mercenary/private outfit) and not some dumb political bs. Crysis 2 I preferred gameplay over Crysis, because Crysis was still retarded with the whole North Korean retardedness. After that it would be Bulletstorm -
-
But yeah, the market for these games are dead now. A shame really. UT, battlefield 1942, quake on dm 17were some of the best LAN fun I've ever had.
-
They just copy ALL of the assets over to the new game, I mean, the segment where Sandman and whoever the hell you play as breach the door, there's the same animation a Russian is doing.
CoD is dead, some work mates still like CoD, they don't realize the truth. Freaking morons, so ignorant.
Sledgehammer Games are hilarious, full of themselves
