I currently have a Dell 1420 with a 2.4 ghz cpu and a x3100.
When I run the screen saver there is alot of lag. About 2-3 second refresh. All it does is go in sperts. Is the gpu the limit?
-
Yes, your screen saver is too demanding....
-
The GPU can't handle it, I'm afraid.
-
I have to say the x3100 is a very bad card. That's just me of coarse. Like others have said your screen saver is to demanding.
-
It is just a slide show!
hmmm
I told my parents that I wanted some thing with a little more kick -
If you can return it still. I would Return it and get a laptop with at least a 8400GS but I would recommend trying to get laptop with a 8600GT
-
This laptop is staying. I have had it about 3 months but this is the first time i tried a slide show.
Thankyou for everyones input
Might the x4500 be much better? -
Well anything to do with graphics the x3100 is not a good idea but if you will use your laptop for other things you will be fine!
-
Well when I (my parents) got the laptop I new it would not run games but it was used in media laptops so I guess I was a little mis led. I can wait for a new laptop.
-
2.4 Ghz is too much for a card like that, or the card less enought. Like they said, a 8600m GT would do the job.
-
Well I do alot of number crunching. Like 12 hour sessions.
Slow graphics
