When I play COD and other games at high settings 1680x1050 my mouse gets really slow...
I have a 1000 dpi mouse (microsoft wireless notebook optical 4000)

What can I do to fix that? on my desktop, the sensitivity is good but in games it's really slow..

Try turning the detail down and see if that helps.

I had the same problem playing STALKER, and lower visual distance solved it.

The higher the res, the higher dpi you want. Look into an adjustable dpi mouse if you're serious about gaming.

    for example in COD,
when you play with high sensitivity, everything is good but when you want to change your class it still is slow...

anyways i did change the windows registry and made the mouse 3x faster

What I am referring to is setting the game mouse sensitivity to something that feels very comfortable while in game, but the when I press Esc to get to the menu (where you can save, load, change options, etc) it is incredibly slow. I will try those things very soon.

Can tonight cause have to celebrate Valentines with the Mrs....

if you want to increase the mouse speed in windows

    Set
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Mouse
    MouseThreshold1 0
    MouseThreshold2 0
    MouseSpeed 2 or 3

    then restart

Maybe the wireless is a problem? My friend had this problem when he was playing Halo 2 with a wireless mouse so I brought over my Deathadder and it worked fine.
