Hey guys, I'm trying to find the smallest and cheapest notebook / netbook (highly unlikely) that can run demigod and total war 2. My budget is around 600, though the cheaper the better.

Any recommendations? i was looking at the asus n10 netbook but i'm not sure if the processor could handle those games. I don't want anything bigger than a 13.3'' though, which seems to be my problem at the moment.

    thanks for looking.

So I'm guessing you don't care what level of detail you run demigod? Cause cheap 13.3" notebooks aren't going to play it anywhere near max.

The best bet would be the hp dv2z with the dual-core amd and the ati 3410 graphics, or the asus 10" one with the nvidia 9300m graphics.

ok i'll give the hp a look. thanks. The 3410 isn't quite as good as the 9300 in the asus though from what i've heard.

Does the 4gigs of ram and much better processor make up for the weaker card compared to the asus?

4 gig of ram by far...u' won't notice a big diff between 2.0 vs 2.2 ghz unless your one of those hardcores freaks running every type of benchmarks and

Thanks for the response lucirz, but my question was more like:

    asus has a 9300, 2 gigs of ram, and a 1.6 proc.

hp has a 3410, 4 gigs of ram, and an x2 1.6 proc

    9300>3410, 2<4, 1.6 < 1.6 x2

does the hp having the more powerful ram and processor outweigh the asus having the more powerful video card when it comes to the 2 games I wanted to play?

no! it uses a atom single core, which is the most pathetic cpu you can find in a modern mobile pc. The dual-core amd in the hp will crush it. The 9300m may be more powerful, but the atom sucks.

I'm not so sure the 9300M is significantly faster than the Radeon 3410 in performance, but I will echo everyone else in saying that the 4GB of RAM and the dual-core CPU are more than worth the possible trade-off of GPU horsepower. The Atom and 2GB of RAM are not enough to game on, much less do many other things with. Also note that the ATI card supports DX10.1, not just 10 like the Nvidia part.
