I've flashed vbios from techinferno on my GTX 880m. Was running fine for few hours. Did some gaming and benchmarks. Temps were ok - ~ 80C at load.

Then the gpu driver crashed during work - on this modified vbios it's crashing instantly after loading desktop.

Flashed back stock vbios - desktop loading fine, but when trying to put load on GPU clocks are going down to 150/400MHz.

Anything can be done besides replacing the GPU?

I guess it was an power issue. Just realized I was working on battery power, while ac adapter was still connected. Led on ac adapter was off.

After reseating ac adapter seems to be working fine.

Still on modified vbios it looks like it's not possible to work properly on battery only.

Modded vbios won't ever work on battery because it forces boost clocks which the battery can't handle. If you aren't careful, it can actually trash your battery.

Its a shame that it doesn't work right because the stock vbios sucks on these cards.
