For me the 8800m gtx looks to be a great performing card for those who wants a 17" notebook. The existing 15.4" model is really just an enthusiast build in my point of view and i think the 8800m gtx wont be represented by the big mass of manufacturers in any 15.4" model.

I'm still looking for that replacement card for the 8600m gt, which as far as i know been phased out, to get the 15.4" notebooks the proper performance it needs to handle modern games.

i have the card but with all the issues with the laptop. i want to know how its truly supposed to perform. i cant run crysis in high with a playable framrate. AW support says it has to run @ medium. but that stinks.

AW is just covering their a$$. Seriously, with an 8800M GTX, it'll run pretty well on high.

Card downclocks when it is super stressed.

At least that's what I have seen floating around the AW section.

I have the 8800m GTX in SLI and yeah it is a great performer, could say it is almost two desktop 8800GT´s and mine are overclocked to desktop 8800GT speeds too, just a minor difference and that is 96 shaders as opposed to 112 shaders in the 8800GT :)

But mine maxes every game out there, I am playing Crysis in DX10 1920x1200 and High with framerates from 30-40 fps. I currently play all my games maxed out in 1920x1200.

Prasad, that lamp you sold me isn't working very well. I turn it on as bright as possible so I can read, but it keeps dimming itself. It's always dimming. What gives?? :p

P.S. The shadow puppets still work though.

Hell, even I can run Crysis all high, WUXGA/2 (960x600) at over 25fps.

I get between 30-35fps @1024x768 all high DX10 in Crysis, which I reckon is about average for the 8800MGTX. I believe you gain even more framerates if you use Windows XP.
