there is absolutely, positively no way in hell that I can upgrade my HP pavillion dv9000 with a nvidia geforce 8400m gt?
-
-
Yep. Computer upgrades are only a little less pokey with desktops too.
-
that makes me sad
even if i got a new mobo and gpu?
-
i think ur stuck with it, unless it MXM or you can buy one from HP and its not soldered.
-
buy what what from HP?
-
Doesn't the dv9500 offer the 8400GS and 8600GS options? If so, you could probably buy the motherboard but that'll cost you $600~ or so. The hard part will be finding it, cause HP doesn't sell it. You'll need someone who has a broken dv9500 or someone who will part out the internals for whatever reason.
Either way, it probably won't happen. -
a graphics card...but its most likely not changeable, your stuck with it

........................*all dreams of playing bioshock in biology class fade away*
-
o you wil be able to play it on that, just on lower/ maybe medium settings
-
i tried, my laptop runs it terribly, maybe one frame a second, even on lowest settings. ive got the 128mb onboard with 2 gigs rams and the turion62X2 processor
-
you updated your drivers lately? is your laptop set to maximum performance mode in the nvidia control panel? is it plugged in when your playing it?
-
oh you want to SWAP for a 8400gt...what do you have in it now?
-
yes you can't play bioshock
end of story
6150 is a 2 generation old integrated graphics solution and you want to play one of the most demanding games today?
even on minimum, it will be an ugly slideshow -
i tried, it failed life goes on...ill just play it on my desktop....now to get extraction point for my laptop buahaha
-
... His notebook won't even be able to touch Bioshock on medium settings.
-
