    there is absolutely, positively no way in hell that I can upgrade my HP pavillion dv9000 with a nvidia geforce 8400m gt?

    Yep. Computer upgrades are only a little less pokey with desktops too.

    i think ur stuck with it, unless it MXM or you can buy one from HP and its not soldered.

    Doesn't the dv9500 offer the 8400GS and 8600GS options? If so, you could probably buy the motherboard but that'll cost you $600~ or so. The hard part will be finding it, cause HP doesn't sell it. You'll need someone who has a broken dv9500 or someone who will part out the internals for whatever reason.


    Either way, it probably won't happen.

    a graphics card...but its most likely not changeable, your stuck with it

    i tried, my laptop runs it terribly, maybe one frame a second, even on lowest settings. ive got the 128mb onboard with 2 gigs rams and the turion62X2 processor

    you updated your drivers lately? is your laptop set to maximum performance mode in the nvidia control panel? is it plugged in when your playing it?

    6150 is a 2 generation old integrated graphics solution and you want to play one of the most demanding games today?

    even on minimum, it will be an ugly slideshow

    if you read the entire thread, you would ahve seen i was confused and i thought he had a 8400gt alrede in and wanted to upgrade.
