So i finally went through the hassle of getting windows xp on my inspiron 1520
and decided to run 3Dmark06 to compare it to scores i have seen around the forums. Im using forceware 101.28 drivers and used rivatuner to up the clock slightly to 525/450 from the standard 475/400.
    This was my result:

Im no expert but 3875 is about what my laptop should score yes?
its definately nothing to brag about but im quite happy with its performance.
    Any comments?
Many other people run this on their 1520/1720?

    My specs btw are:
    T7500 2.2 Core2duo
    3gig ram
    256mb 8600GT DDR2 :(
    Windows XP Pro

You scored higher than you should because you used 1280x800 resolution instead of the default 1280x1024.

If you only have a 1440x900 screen, you will need to use an external monitor to run a 1280x1024 run for comparison to the numbers listed on most sites.

3dmark06 (free) defaults to 1280x1024 if available and then goes down the line to find a compatible resolution is you cannot run at 1280x1024. Since most people aren't buying it for a quick run, you will need a 1280x1024 result to get a fair comparison.
