I know this has been an ongoing discussion, but I have not been able to find any new updates on this... So, what is the best one? Right now I am on 169.09 and it seems to be steady, although I feel that I could get better performance. These days I am playing Gears of War, all on max, 1024x640(i believe), DX10 on., and it's running fairly smooth at 35-50 fps on average with random drops to 15-20 when a lot is going for a few seconds but it catches right back up... So anything better than this? Keep in mind, I am currenly OC'd to 525/730... thanks!

167.49, released recently by ASUS specifically for your laptop.

Check it out at laptopvideo2go.com; it's amazing!

Asus will not release one for XP for the G1S as they are only supporting Vista (I guess).

Asus supports XP, Vista 32bit and Vista 64bit (for the Asus G1S)

This is what is on Asus's website:
    Version V7.15.11.0138 2007/08/31 update

    Description Nvidia Graphics Driver
    Graphics Driver for Vista 32bit

    File Size 56.19 (MBytes)

That seem to be the latest... so should I download the unofficial 167 driver opposed to 169.09? What are G1s users using these days?

I'd like to know the best overall driver for that card also. I noticed shadow effects in games like GoW and CoD4 look a little.. eh..... wonky and flicker a tad on character models, and was hoping a driver update would steady things a bit. Oh, and to OP... are you running GoW with antialiasing on? You get no graphical improvements with just DX10 on and no AA, all you get is a performance hit.

Ah, that's the version I'm using right now. Guess it's just the game itself then...

Yeah, with AA turned on it looked nicer, much nicer, but ran at 15 fps so totally unplayable. Now I have it with DX10 mode on, and yeah you are right I have heard that there are really no improvements and just slow down. Perhaps I should turn off DX10 completely?

I have the DDR2 version but as a driver it shouldnt matter. I use a very old forceware driver wich, for me, gives the best performance for the games i play. It's FW101.45 and use Atitool to OC it.
