ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M chipset with integrated ATI RADEON X300-based graphics
What the heck does this mean? Am I getting the X200 or the X300? And how does this stack up against the X700?

If you read the first section of the Sticky in this Forum called Graphics Card Comparisons, it will explain just what the X200M is. As I understand it, it's an integrated graphics chipset, which performs better than Intel, but not as well as a dedicated GPU.

It means the 200m is intergrated but performs just like the x300.
The x300 is nowhere near the performance of an x700 -
It's an x200M IGP. Gateway likes to point out that the x200M is based on the x300, makes it seem more powerful, but it's still an IGP. You can expect about 500-700 3DMarks in '05, which is UT2004 at the screen's native resolution jsut fine. Don't expect miracles.
And any IGP is going to be blown away by an x700. The x700 is a gaimng-level card, averaging 2500+ 3DMarks in '05, while the x200M is designed for simple media use (DVD viewing, non-intensive gaming, etc.) -
The gateway website says it's X300 based. So like everyone else I would say ATI 200m IGP.

So what am I getting here?
