After the beta has concluded I have decided that for now I am not going to buy the game.
I really liked certain aspects of the game, for a MMO graphics looked good while running smooth.
However it failed to capture me in a way that made me think wow this is fun! It was more like wow this is still a grind and the combat did not feel very rewarding. I liked my caster the most my sorceress, I found melee with my Chosen to be very boring very fast.
Public Quest were my favorite thing, but WAY too often there was nobody around so I had no way to finish the quests.
Im not going to get into minor complaints because most of them will be addressed and fixed with time I am sure.
One thing that really did suck was lack of different models & armor. Everybody looks the same and for a MMO that really ruins the experience for me. Everybody gets the same loot & same rewards from quests so everybody naturally progresses with the same equipment, and since you have very little customization to start with and all classes have there own set model its like the clone wars.
Im thinking full retail, once you hit high lvl the huge pvp has potential but thats only if you found the combat really fun in the first place. But then the first 3 tiers of the game are gone to you and its going to be the same thing every day... PVP Zerg Fest so maybe I am just getting too old for games to get my interest the way they used to.
Wonder if anybody else feels the same.

You'll get banned if you said WOW in WAR...

lol yeah the forums are so full of fanbois as usual so they freak out if you say WoW.
So a guy walks into a Warhammer Online Pub, and he says "wow, the graphics sure are nice in warhammer ri"
Then he dies from the guy sitting next to him at the bar stabbing him in the spleen with a rusty orc sword, then the pub LOL's and continues there conversation about how overpowered IronBreakers are. -
I'm planning on taking the dive some time in October. If it's any improvement over WoW, I am willing to sink in $50.
I also have a pet peeve about the depth of gear some MMO's have to offer. Currently in WoW, everyone and their alts is walking around in the identical welfare Arena gear. It's darn pathetic. I was obsessed at the variety of gear and different sources of gear in EQ1. In WoW, everyone has identical gear and it's pathetic. I worked my tail off for gear in EQ1 and it meant something: Eye Patch of Plunder, Dark Cloak of Sky. Now it seems to be the trend to hand things to you. -

Yeah unless some major changes are made the gear is more identical in this game than any MMO I have ever played.
When you beat a quest you always get the same items, and it gives you the item for your class. Then the other main items are the pvp rewards (renown rank gear) also all the same, and your influence rewards from questing, also all the same.
so except for the few rares I have seen drop off mobs while questing everybody is going to be the same. WoW had some good variety in gear if you went out and seeked for it. Atleast it did at first, but when everybody finds out what the "best" is everybody goes for it.
I played WoW before battlegrounds and stuff tho so I never deal with arena gear. I quit shortly after BG was implimented I hated the idea that they destroyed random world pvp and toss us in a cage to fight where its always the same stuff and you had no hope of gettin the high rank gear unless you had no life or shared accounts with somebody.
I think the statistic was like 9/10 grand marshals quit the game after getting the rank. If I was the 1/10 that did not quit I **** sure would when an expansion came out that made my super epic obsolete with a random green item -
You do know there are reported 400 armor sets currently in game and will translate to 20 armor sets per-class (T4 RvR armor sets you saw in some preview just a basic armor set). WAR is end heavy in weapons and armor sets instead of beginning heavy or equally distributed, which is good because majority of players will not use early items anyway after the initial few months.

Meh, I really like WAR. Already payed full price for it anyway, so yeah I'm going to play it for a long time hopefully.

Loved the Open Beta but constant 40ish fps is pissing me off. I want the days of 55+ back!

It ran pretty good I think 40fps maxed out on the G50V and thats not bad for a mid ranged gaming notebook.
It ran 60fps solid on my desktop at 1920x1080 with forced 16x AF 4x AA and Adaptive AA, and Forced Vsync. -
Am already having a blast in the CE headstart!
So who is going to get WAR?
