Yeah, the negative hype makes the game look way worse than it is. I've seen shopped (or at least, extremely unfortunate) screenshots of multiplayer scoreboards showing one guy with 4 green bars with 20,000 points, and the other 8 players with one red bar and a couple hundred points each. Trust me, the game is NOTHING like that.
If you ask me, shotguns should all be single only. Firing a shotgun with one hand would probably break your wrist.

What's funny is, I absolutely love the fact that there are no dedicated servers in MW2. I personally HATE dedicated servers in PC games, because they're almost always modded. I really hated it in Left 4 Dead, although that wasn't too bad since you could filter for official servers.
I think I even heard it as a quote from one of the MW2 devs, and I 100% agree with him- I want to play the game the way it is meant to be played. For some reason there are all these PC gamers who think they know better than the designers and artists and developers who spent so much time and money making the game the way they believe it should be made. -
Also, I agree Mastershroom, its absolute sillyness to have dual shot guns, while the game is not meant to be very realistic, that is just too far. The fact that the 1887s basically have no spread at max range means you can get a kill at max range from one gun, I use to use them all the time and was a amazed at some of the kills I got, couldnt believe it. If range or spread at range was reduced it would be much more even, but this game would be better off witout ANY akimbo shotguns. It works for pistols and subs, as you cannot pick people off who are in cover very easily at all, and that is the downside, you shouldnt be able to pick people off because its inaccurate. -
Yeah, I could understand dual-wielding M9's or Glock 18's or even some smaller SMGs like the MP5K's, but full-sized SMG's (P90) and certain handguns (.44 magnum, Desert Eagle) shouldn't be dual-wieldable.
-
The P90 is completely stable one handed. That was one of it selling points
-
Ah, well then I may just be stupid. I've never fired a gun in my life, but the P90 looks awfully big for that.

Blabus - I want to respond to you based upon real life data. I work for a fortune 50. (there are not many of them!) We spend hundreds of millions on advertising. Last year for the super bowl a couple of guys with 2000 bucks developed a commercial during the super bowl that totally smoked anything an entire team of marketing experts could develop with almost unlimited data. The bottom line is this... dont count out someone because they are not the "professionals". There are so many people out there with great ideas. It usually comes down to time and a way to communicate your ideas. I am not discounting that the professionals may have the upper hand... but dont count out the little guy... not by a long shot. Best Wishes, StevenX

Sorry, I totally disagree with all those who say that P2P connections are superior to/as good as dedicated servers for PC MP gaming. There is no question that playing on a well moderated dedicated server running a strong connection beats the c$#p out of playing an unmoderated game hosted on some player's personal system with an ADSL line. The comparison is so ridiculous that it's not even worth defending the P2P setup.
Besides, it's not true that 'most' dedicated servers are modded; there is always a good mix of unmodded/modded, low/high ping, popular/empty servers for all popular MP games. The issue is about choice: I want to pick the servers on which I wish to play, end of story. I don't need the chaps at IW dictating the terms of my MP gameplay after I've already shelled out $XYZ for their 'game' (and no, I don't wish to play it 'the way the devs intended' if their idea of gameplay borders on the moronic ).
I haven't played MW2, but I know people who have, and I trust their feedback completely. Their unanimous opinion is that MW2 MP sucks the proverbials. That seals the deal for me.

What I love about MW2 is when I host the game, get killed by spammers, press alt-tab, the connection for everyone gets screwed up and they all die and swear about the lag. Really great!!

masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
there are pros and cons for me.
i appreciate knowing what i am getting when i join a server. no random stupid crap in the games. that's great.
sometimes i do have ping issues, or the dreaded host migration, which is annoying, and every time it happens it reminds me of having dedicated servers, where neither of those were an issue (you could hand select servers with good ping).
so i would like to see them implement fixes for both of those things- some of which have been discussed above.
oh yes, i despite the fact that i basically build my classes around speed and the 1887's, i do recognize that the dual wield shotguns are annoying. (get rid of all of them)
(sometimes i go speed/pistol+tacknife), im not a complete 1887 noob. -
I would say its tantamount to a hilarious joke on the PC community, but a bunch of people didn't get it.
-
Played the PS3 version. I'd like to see bit long single player campaign. It's too short...Overall game is really nice
-
Would it be worth waiting an extra year for a 20-24 hour campaign instead of a 5-7 hour campaign?
So, MW2 has been out for a month...how is it?
