Well I am here to say thanks guys.. I have been off and on for the last few months lurking sometimes and posting others.. if you recognize me you probably asked "WHEN IS HE GUNNA GET THE ****IN THING!?!" lol. Well.. I finally did it.. I finally ordered my Hp nc8430.

I have high expectations because I have seen no seriously bad reviews for it.

So.. for gaming, word processing, and Net surfing in general.. I am hoping its a pretty good configuration. I am anxious and I will write a review soon as possible.

    here are the details.

    HP Compaq nc8430 Notebook PC
    Genuine Windows® XP Professional
    Intel® Core™2 Duo processor T7400 (2.16-GHz, 667-MHz FSB, 4-MB L2 Cache)
    1024MB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM (1 DIMM)
    256MB Video memory
    100GB hard drive (7200 rpm)
    15.4-inch WSXGA+ WVA display
    DVD+/-RW DL drive (fixed)
    56K modem
    10/100/1000 NIC
    8 cell Li-Ion battery
    Integrated Intel® Pro Wireless 3945ABG (802.11a/b/g), Bluetooth
HP Biometric Fingerprint Sensor, Integrated Smart Card Reader & Embedded Security Chip (TPM 1.2)
    3/3/0 Year WorldWide Limited Warranty
    and
    HP 1-GB (DDR2 667 MHz) SODIMM

On the reviews the guy was able to play oblivion with graphics I felt satisfying and this seems pretty "future proof" seeing as I am not excatly a "hardcore gamer".. I don't usually go for the uber 1337 graphics right away.. I usually wait until w/e is new becomes mainstream.. then go for the best at the time..

Anyway.. this computer was highly recommended to me.. so what do all of you think of the purchase?

    Good move awesome comp?

Eehhh shoulda looked around more or chose something else?

Edit: One final thing.. I must commend Hp customer service so far.. it may just be because its the "business" support but, they never left me on the phone for very long and they were not like dell who as soon as I told them what I was looking for... they tried to sell me something.. which I in truth knew couldn't do hardly anything I wanted it to...and asked "so when can we ship it to you".. So.. I do appreciate the way Hp doesn't try to sell you something else..

Sellsmen (cars and computer) have lost a few sells from me recently because they are just that.. sellsmen.. customers want to be treated like people.. not like paychecks.. at least thats my opinion.

Why are you asking us its your computer?

That's an awesome computer, congratulations on your purchase & enjoy.

The HP nc8430 is arguably one of the best notebooks in its class; one of the thinnest & lightest 15.4" machines. I think you made an excellent choice.

Snow_fox apparently you created two threads with the same topic/post so I merged them for you.
