Hi I have a couple of questions about the 7970m and the 650m. How much performance difference would there be between the two at 1080p. Also, are there any upcoming 14.1" and below latopts with the 7970m or 650m before september that I could buy for school. Thanks.

You won't find a 14.1'inch Laptop with a 7970M. Only in a 15' or 17' Laptop. And the 7970M has twice the power of a 650M. Even more I think.

The performance difference would be gargantuan. The 7970M absolutely crushes the 650M and would futureproof your computer for years. It's also more expensive and the 650M is still an adequate card for today.

Is there anything better than the 650m that you could find in a 14.1" notebook?

maybe an AMD option? honestly not sure. the 650 for an ultra portable is really good. I believe they are soldered on too so no aftermarket upgrades

Do you know of any current or upcoming 14" and under notebooks with the 650m apart from the Sager NP6110?

Maybe a GTX 660M could fit into a 14 inch notebook? It would be thick and heavy like the M14x though

if you are looking for something portable with decent 1080p gaming performance, look for a 15" or 14" laptop around 1" thick with something like the 7730m or 7750m. Personally, I'd rather have a thin 15" than a bulky 14" machine.

HP just released an Envy 15-32XX model available with i7-3820QM, 7750m and 1080p display and it is 1.11" thick. I'm sure there will be others, perhaps closer to 1" or even thinner.
