Anyone picked this up on steam?

Looks great... unfortunately it doesn't work on NVIDIA Optimus enabled cards, the configuration utility only recognises the Intel HD card so even if you try and force the NVIDIA card when loading the game/config utility it just closes it with some sort of "hardware does not match config profile" message

    brilliant o_O

hope this gets fixed at some point... up to now have been happy with optimus too ;-(

right, it seems that the configuration exe which you use to set up the graphics and control options in this game doesn't recognise the GT555M at all, even if I add the config.exe to the 3d profiles section of the NVIDIA Control Panel along with the actual game.exe.

when you try to boot the game it naturally tries to use the gt555m but checks the config file, sees that it was set up to use the Intel HD card and refuses to boot...

here's the cfg file from the game directory (copied from someone else online as I'm currently at work):

Do not manually edit this file, use the configuration tool.
    Intel® HD Graphics Family
    \\.\DISPLAY1
    1366.768.60
    1 (this is for AA)
    0 (This is for Wide/letterbox)
    1 (this is for Shadows)
    1 (This is for Reflection)
    0 (v-sync)
    d7b78e66-4256-11cf-ea52-9d24b7c2c535
    MONITOR\LGD0292\{4d36e96e-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\ 0000
    1515474505

if someone who has this game running on a GTX560M or some other sort of laptop GT/GTX card can post how the card name is listed in the CFG file then it may be possible for me to manually change the name of the card in my CFG and get it working (long shot as it's likely checking the line of code at the bottom of the CFG rather than the card name... worth a try though)

    7.5 GB installer for Sonic?

    Skyrim is only 5.5GB installer.

until then I'm stuck with 20fps at 720p on my integrated card

    sigh

Wonder if this is an issue with AMD's switchable graphics (automatic, not fixed like on the HP Envy an Pavilion), though I'm not about to spend any money to find out.

thanks for the info - i had indeed found this before but unfortunately even after extending displays, adding the game and config exe to optimus NVIDIA profile and checking the config it still only shows an intel card. (once displays are extended I get 2 x intel cards showing in the config tool, one on monitor 0 and the other on monitor 1)

I think it's because I've not used the HDMI out since updating gfx drivers recently - the first time you use the HDMI out it loads the NVIDIA HDMI drivers.

will just wait and see what happens :(

It's a game I would pick up and enjoy when it hits the sale shelf.

Same. Come December, if it's 50% off in the steam sales, I'm dropping some cash down on this. Looks fun but not on the top of my 'must play' list.

Game looks great but I have issues on the Chemical Plant level where the FPS stutters and has spasms on the same exact spots. Shenanigans I say. Hopefully there's a patch soon for it.

Not uncommon for sega games to have some big bugs in them that never seem to get fixed :/

It's a good game, but it is clearly a console port (and a poor port, at that). When I have to go out and by a controller to just play the game...
