This thing has 8GB of GDDR5 and a 2TF GPU.

If you don't expect this to heavily affect PC, think again.

    edit: my mistakes derp

Oops I meant T F. They announced it as a custom near 2 Teraflop GPU based on PC architecture.

The point is that the PS4 is a beast.

no show of the console itself which is odd. I guess they hold it back for E3 or smth.

WOW...the new killzone looks!!! WOW, the characters move so realistically and the environments very detailed.

the new panta reigh engine for Devil may cry and other japanese titles looks like it will make real use of all that horsepower too.

not too sure on how this "share" button on the gamepad will work out??? the new gamepad looks more curvy...i like the current one :(

    gametrailers.com is usually pretty good.
Killzone: Shadow Fall Video - PS4 Gameplay Demo | GameTrailers

It obviously looks pretty sweet. Wasn't super blown away by the graphics, didn't think the jump was as big as say between ps1 and ps2 or ps2 and ps3.

They haven't released full spec details... which I only assume that they didn't because they aren't that impressive. 8gb ddr5 was almost expected honestly.

Oh well, seems as blizzard is going down the console path as well.

PC gaming is reliant on Valve's steam box now!

In terms of GPU and RAM power that trounces the vast majority of current laptops. Including mine :( (or should that be :))

I hate seeing the PC trollitists already slamming it for 'being worse than all PCs since 3 years ago trololo'. Not everyone can afford the top-end stuff. There's far more people using budget GPUs than top-end ones on PC - Steam hardware survey is proof of that (also common sense). The PS4 easily beats the majority of PC gamers systems out there. FACT.

Having said this, I can't wait to get a new laptop to at least be on a level with it. I'll die a little inside if I can't afford a new laptop by Christmas this year.

The PS4 cpu is actually pretty weak compared to the ones released by Intel in the last 2 years. The gpu is basically a modified 7850, which is a little worse then our 7970m one.

The one thing right now that seems better is 8 gb gddr5 memory. But i don't know how that affects PCs from now on. Most have 4-16 gb ddr3 and 1-3 gb gddr5.

You can get a desktop for around ~1k with significantly better specs, let alone the insane overclock potentials on the i5 k's and GPU's. (If the gfx really is ati 7850 in ps4).

I'm happy that FINALLY devs will be forced to develop games that take full advantage of the core set ups we run now.

Laptop gaming has always been very expensive.. desktop, not so much. If you are smart about upgrading you can be surprised by how far you can stretch your budget and still play most top of the line games at high details.

TBH graphics of killzone on ps 4 look at a similar level of crysis 3 ... which isn't bad by any means but I wonder how long we will be stuck at that level before the next generation comes out.

The gfx in it as well as the archeture means LOADS of us PC gamers, maybe devs will start optimising games for the PC finally instead of just porting it and thats all
I still have to play FPS with a bloody controller so no purchasing for me. If they released that they were adding native mouse and keyboard support I'd be all over it
