Before downloading the drivers, i checked the supported models notice that nVidia posted and realised that the drivers do not support Sony Vaio notebooks.
It said to contact the manufacturer's OEM.
I've done a bit of googling and searched for compatible drivers but with no luck.
do you think that the modded drivers offered by laptopvideo2go.com would offer the same performance increase over 180.84 drivers? or will the official nvidia drivers be far superior?
what should i do?

I am in the same boat as you (I own a FZ). I have sound that the 180 series doesn't really agree with 8400GT so I tried an earlier version of the 179 series (179.13). My advice is try out 179.26 with the modified INF from laptopvideo2go and see how it goes. What sort of games do you play btw?

So have you tried installing it? "Does not support" can sometimes just mean that they won't provide any help, but there should be nothing to stop you from using it anyway.

I mostly play Counter strike source but i have recently bought pro evolution soccer 2009.
Bottom line , im mostly an FPS type of guy but i also lean towards MMO's and RPG's if they really interest me.
@kevin
i think i will give them a try.
