Which of the above two gives better overall performance?
Which has the greater overclock potential?

I'm understand both are lesser than the GT555m in my M14x.
However I've recently changed from desiring a larger more powerful desktop replacement to seeking the most power in the smallest package for moving later this year.

Unfortunately neither Clevo nor its Sager equivalent, the NP6110, are based in the U.K.
Which means for the time being, the Vaio Z or M11x R3 are my only options for portable gaming.

the bandwidth of 6650m is limited in VAIO Z2 due to the way SONY designed the laptop with an external PMD which houses the GPU. this might hamper gaming on the Z2. VAIO SA's 6630m, however, is not bandwitdh-limited, but the screen on SA is inferior to that of Z2. (head over to the SONY forum here to read more about it.)

i haven't used 540m but play Battlefield 3 on my VAIO SA with an overclocked 6630m GPU. it runs great on 1366x768 with a mix of MEDIUM+HIGH settings, MSAA off, AO off, FXAA on.

just wanted to let you know before you commit to purchase one.

If you don't need a laptop immediately, I would hold off on any purchase for a while.

Ivy Bridge and 28nm AMD and Nvida mobile GPUs have just been announced.

I wish Sager would make an "ultra portable" 15 inch version with 1080p display. At least thinner and lighter than their current 15" models.

I wish sager would do a 13'' with the same guts and a better panel than the np6110
