    Sound card broken?

    Hey it seems my sound card is broken :S When i listen to music or watch something, especially when playing WoW my sound is all broken and stuttery like ive got a bad signal on a radio program. Its really annoying because i cant listen to anything properly. Anyone know whats happening?

    It could be a driver issue.

    I assume you use Windows, if so try a system restore to a point your soundcard worked. If it works it was a driver issue, if not you can try a factory restore, if your notebook has a restore partition. If that does not work either, check the BIOS if the soundcard is recognized.

    If nothing else helps, as most soundchips are soldered into the motherboard, the whole board has to be replaced.

    Or you could purchase a USB or Expresscard/PCMCIA sound card.

    THIS is a specific problem with WoW. If you open the WoW config text file in your WoW folder, you can add a line that says soundbuffersize=100 if that doesnt work, try the same thing with soundbuffersize=150
