About a week ago, i bought a new asus laptop. it working fine for 2 or 3 days. now i cannot hear any sound from my laptop. i am totally confused how can i fix this problem.

RMA it.

Before you go to all that trouble to RMA it, try uninstalling the sound drivers. Turn the computer back on and it should automatically install the basic set of sound drivers that windows uses by default. They may work better than the drivers installed by asus.
Can you describe your problem in more detail? Like as far as the software is concerned, does anything look different than when it was working? Can you change the output device? Do headphones work when plugged in?Starlight5 likes this. -
In order to fix the sound problem, you need to follow the instructions given below.
- Make sure you have not muted the sound by mistake. so you need to press the mute button once to unmute it.
- Try to use headphone or external speakers. let's see if it works or not.
- Reboot the laptop once, and then try to play the audio again.
- After following the instructions, if you are still having asus laptop sound not working problem. you need try to update audio driver. let's see if it is updating the sound or not.
- Try to restart the windows audio service for once.
- Uninstall the sound driver from your computer and install the new driver into your computer, and then try to play a video again. let's see what do you see there.

You could try chatting with the ASUS support representative after the steps mentioned above.

My suggestion is try to determine whether the loss of sound is hardware's fault or software based.
If its software, then it could likely be easily fixed... if not, then get the company you bought the laptop from a call and request a replacement (as opposed them trying to RMA it).
In case you are told that they can't (or won't) replace the unit, then just RMA the thing directly to Asus (instead of going through the company you bought it from because, if they RMA it, they will simply send it to Asus themselves, and that will take several weeks longer).
However, since you bought the laptop a week ago, you are technically within your right to give the unit back within 2 weeks of purchasing it and getting a refund if you wish... at least, that's the practice in UK for some companies. -
Thanks! it is working for me. my son has fixed it. he said it was a problem from windows audio service.
