Anyone have any experience with this piece of hardware, especially using a hotel connection on the receiving end? It's very tough to get any sort of info about the performance.

Either no one travels around here or this is a testament to the lack of marketing by Spawnlabs

Never tried them. I'm guessing you'll get pretty crappy performance based on the connections of all the hotels I've stayed in. I've only found about half the hotels I'm in have enough bandwidth and low enough ping to play multiplayer games decently on my laptop. I've got a United Premier membership that I got from pure miles, if that gives you an idea about how much I travel
The marketing also says that it's for over a home network... pushing video feeds over the Internet, especially live interactive feeds like gaming, will be slow as heck, triply so given the anemic upstream speeds of most home connections.
I wouldn't even try it, to be honest. You'll just be disappointed. -
Yeah, I know that's the answer deep down. Just figured I would ignore the truth for a bit. Pretty much reaching for any reason to buy a console at this point but have to justify it for travel. Same old same old.
