So after reading some of the posts in the Battlefield 4 thread about ships/submarines/sea planes duking it out with each other, are there any games that exist which focuses around only sea warfare (or at least the majority of the content)? As of right now, Battlefield 1942 is the only game I can think of (and currently own) that delivers a slice of ship action. Are there any others? Doesn't have to be in an FPS setting; turn-based, RTS, w/e is all fine with me. I've just been hankering for some epic naval combat.

The Battlestation series is a lot of fun if you aren't looking for something too serious. Worth a look, I loved both Midway (the first one) and Pacific (sequel). Both are available with demo's I believe on Steam.

Empire Total War is I think very entertaining (and gorgeous looking) during naval battles :)

Civ4 has some great naval units that you can use to wage in some interesting maritime warfare, especially if your enemy also has an impressive fleet. IIRC, Civ5 also carries over a great naval selection.

Lol I know it's only about a quarter of the game but the naval missions in AC3 are great...
