Which one of these two games should I get? I really want to play a good stealth game and I prefer first person game with good graphics. Especially the shadow effects.

I have not played thief, but I recently completed chaos theory and its a great game. Tons of stealth to be had and its fun doing the same mission differently.

Both are good stealth series, but deadly shadows should be older so it won't as good for players obsessing over every last polygon and shader.

hmm but I'm leaning more towards Thief since I really love using arrows and stuff. Then would Thief be a better game for me?

sounds like you're leaning toward Thief, but have a thing for splinter cell. if up to my I'd go for Chaos Theory, but from what little you told us you might want to go for Theif.

Splinter Cell : CT is a good game. Thief 3: DS is a great game.

I just purchased Splinter Cell Chaos Theory and it was so cheap at £5 with free delivery. I am guessing you could buy both. That probably explains why I have more games on my laptop than I could possibly play lol.

Go for the newer Splinter Cell games. Kind of late in the decade to be playing Chaos Theory don't you think?

I dunno, I think I'd go with Thief 3 based on the choices given. There is a level in an orphanage/insane asylum that is just freaky and made my skin crawl with anticipation, fear, and stealth goodness. Great game imho.

    Cheers!

Both games are of the stealth genre, yet they are still quite different. I think it more bolis down if you want to play like a classical thief (you know, with the classical magic arrows and so on) or play like on a M. I. game (you know, the super coll super agent).

I loved the Splinter Cell games. You might even spring for Double Agent (just not the multiplayer - Chaos theory has good multiplayer if you can find someone to play :S)

I bought Chaos Theory on release, loved it. Has anyone been able to play it on x64 though?

To play that on X64, you first need to update the Starforce copy protection otherwise it won't work. I read this in a forum but I haven't tried the game yet, it is still on its way.

I'd go for Chaos Theory. While I haven't played Thief (and I have heard good things about it), CT is just a plain awesome game. Also, imo, Double Agent is NOT classic Splinter Cell, nor will Conviction be.

Because they're huge turning points in Sam Fisher's story.

Of course they aren't classic Splinter Cell. But you can expect every other new game to follow their course.

Both are great games but I have to say that Splinter Cell is a little better and has this certain feeling to it.

Chaos Theory is easily the best of the SC series. I'd highly recommend it.

While SC series is one of my favorite stealth genre games I would give the nod to Thief. Thief, for it's time, was original and has a good story and setting.

I've heard that Chaos Theory does not run well on laptops. Is this true? Because I am considering getting it since D2D has it for $5; but if it isn't going to work then no point in buying it

As long as your computer meets the system requirements, it doesn't matter what form factor your computer is.

Ughhhh i was rly hoping for Thief to be the better game because I love using arrows, daggers and I just tried the demo. I love shooting fires with water arrow and being all stealthy. so should I still get SC?

Do whatever you want. Both games are great and it's just a matter of personal taste which makes the other game better than the other. Buy both games if you want :)
