If this is a mistake, is Ubisoft going to charge all those for whatever the deluxe edition normally costs when they fix it?

The most they might be able to do is revoke the key they give you when you purchased it but then they have to give you your dollar back ...

When you pay you agree to pay only that amount and nothing more ...

 

Who knows. May be a hidden page for special members, or someone was just testing something.

They can't charge you full price after the fact, but they can cancel the order. However, this is a digital download, so IDK what's going to happen. Since the game requires you to be connected to Ubisoft's server's at all times, they could technically just block you, but I don't see that happening. They're probably just going to find this and correct it, but let all orders stand, since they're not really losing anything.

 

Exactly this. Which is why I'm now debating if I want to stay up another 3 hours while I'm downloading just to get my key in as early as possible..

 

You know, computers do work without you having to sit in front of them.

 

Honestly i doubt they will do anything after the fact and like Lithus said its something that will certainly be corrected but for people who got lucky they will just leave it be... I doubt its worth all the trouble it can bring them to not honor it and its not like they lose anything generating us a key for $1.00 ...

This might also show them that there new DRM can be very successful if they only charge $1.00 per game ...

 

but if he's asleep he can't get the key in.

Just a quick question, this DRM is not deleterious to computers is it? If I remember correctly, it just requires you to be connected to the internet to play? I remember back in splinter cell chaos theory, cd version contained a DRM that could interfere with cd drive causing system damage or something like that.

 

They could still revoke the key after the fact ... You need to log in to there server when you play and your login and key are all tied together so if they want to get you they will get you before or after....

I paid through paypal and as soon as i was done paying it kicked me right back to the page where it gives you the key and a link to the download...

Meh just buy the key and whats the worst you stand to lose ? Maybe you will be surprised tomorrow and have a working key in the best case and in the worst you have a dollar back in your account ...

DOUBLE EDIT: FALSE ALARM. What theneighborrkid said is right. You get a txt file and all it says is "This is your game download." in it. Wow that's evil.

SC:C worked fine when I paid by credit card, but I did get a confirmation email. It's AC that's busted.

And apparently Prince of Persia is also a buck, and people are reporting that it's working, but I'm not willing to risk it on a game that I'm not interested in xD.

If it didnt work i want my Dollar back or there will be hell to pay /shakesfist ...

 

I am also downloading it right now. 5GB left. If it turns out to be not working, then I won't fret over it. It was just a dollar. I'll just consider it as a donation to Ubisoft or buying a cola or something

Confirmed! The console products are also $1 each, but I'd avoid that since it's easier to cancel that order and give a refund.

Though honestly, I'm really starting to doubt there's any way Ubisoft will let all of this go through. But whatever. I'm done stalking the site now lol, it's 3AM >.<.

Im happy i even got one game out of the deal...

I see people who ordered everything under the sun including pre orders .... Im not pushing my luck though Prince of Persia would have been cool...

 

Got AC2, PoP, HAWX, and Call of Juarez 2, but traded HAWX for SC:C, may end up giving away PoP and Juarez, not sure yet though, need to read up on the games first!

EDIT: does anyone know how activation works on these? I have a M11x and a gaming desktop and should figure out if I can only install it on one of them

 

I just played the first two missions of SC:C. The key worked! I guess this bizarre sale was: someone hacked the ubisoft, surprise/hidden sale by ubisoft for a brief duration, or just a mistake by an employee.
