So....I was playing some SC: Chaos Theory just now and look what happened to good ol Sam Fisher:

Does anyone know the reason why this is happening? It doesn't happen in any other one of my games. Could it be a problem with Chaos Theory or drivers?

It's one of his new stealth modes.

    EDIT:
Naa seriously, it looks like a driver issue to me... or have you tried restarting? Does that clear it up. Sort of strange that the issue would just suddenly appear without something being changed.

Nah, it's not that. The game looks great and plays fine on max normally.

Is there any glitching or slowdowns when this happens? And is this the only texture problem you've noticed?

In general, I'd say update your drivers to the latest WHQL ones, and try lowering some settings to see if that clears it up. If the problem doesn't happen at lower settings, then it's possible that some of the advanced rendering options in the game are having issues with your system somehow (your card or drivers, most likely).

Well, I get 20-30 FPS on max settings, so performance wise it's fine. I usually play the game fine. This isn't a common occurrence, but it did happen 3 or 4 times. I have been playing the game for about a 2 weeks on and off now. I Just wanted to know why it was being caused.

When this happens to the game, nothing slows down. It plays like it normally would. The models and lighting are all messed up, though. A restart fixes it.

Are you overclocking? Looks like artifacting, which could be a sign of an overheating GPU/vRAM or vRAM at unstable frequencies.

I would also update drivers as others have suggested and try to patch the game.

No. I never overclock my GPU or CPU.

I think it's most probably the drivers, but I have no idea which ones to use.

    So far...I have used:

    165.01
    163.14
    163.16
    158.45

All of them seem to have their own problems, except 165.01, which is pretty old.

Actually....I'm going to give them a shot. Thank you. I saw them, but I had heard that 163.14 and 158.45 were the best ones...maybe not for Vista 32-Bit.

LOL SAM FISHER GOT OWNED BY HIS OWN STEALTH!!!!! LoL, My only guess would to be a compleate reinstall, dont keep any save files or anything, and then see if the problem still happens.

I had the same problem and it only happened when Shader Model 3.0 was selected in the game's Video Settings. Just switch the shader model setting. It worked for me :).
