Hello forum members!
The new Splinter Cell game is out and it's called Double Agent. A great game if you ask me. I have bought this game today and hapily installed it on my M1437G. After defragging a few times I was ready to play.
Then all the trouble started. I ran the game and it went perfect but things were soon to change. After adjusting my videosettings I wanted to start the training. The training started to load and everything was perfect. Suddenly the game crashed and I got a C++ error.
I was very mad and angry, my computer never had a problem. But after looking at the box with min. requirements I realised I had made a mistake. My X700 is not SM 3.0 compitable. It is 2.0 card.
I have searched all the forums for a solution but I could not find one. Please tell me, what do I have to do? I have always been a fan of Splinter Cell (played all the 3 series) and I would also like to play this one.
I hope someone can help me![]()
Thanks in advance,
Charlie![]()

It is possible to run double agent with a 2.0 shader card. Though i dont know the details, there was a guy on another forums that got it to run. I think he said he googled an answer... well, heres the thread http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1118529
GoodLuck! Maybe they'll implement a patch soon -

I tried playing the demo on my card.
1. You cannot adjust the graphics settings in the demo.
2. The camera view ingame kept spinning in circles, I messed with mouse settings but no fix.
3. The online game browser sucks majorly, its a direct port from the Xbox 360 version. It took me 10 minutes to find one game, where the host didnt leave.
Otherwise I thought the demo ran good, I would probably have bought the game if it wasnt for the issues stated above. -

The requirements for that game are extremely high if you ask me:

Yes those are very high settings requirements, but I am not really planning to upgrade now Chaz, as you know we are all waiting for Santa Rosa
The problem is that SM 3.0 is, for example Oblivion, only enabled when the card supports SM 3.0. Why did they not do that with Splintercell as well? I wish there was a way to emulate SM 3.0.

I say wait for some new patches, I'm sure the company is going to have to come out with patches to make the game actually playable without owning a 3000.00 laptop.
