Does anyone else have this problem? For some reason the main menu of the game lags so much, my mouse pointer is really choppy but the game itself runs fine with no lag at all.

I'm running it on medium settings on a mobility hd 3650 ddr2 512mb

Ya, it does that for me too.

It is kind of annoying, but as long as the game doesn't start lagging, I'm fine with it.

So it's not just you. :)
