I can't get this to download! I keep clicking the button and nothing happens![]()
Anyone got it uploaded somewhere else?

-

-
lol.
Some games can do that to people
*searches for spore creature creature again* -
June 17th people, stop freaking me out like that!
There will be a free version and a $9.99 version.
The free version will have about 1/4 the parts (for use in creature creation). -
The only thing I'm wondering is if you have to buy the creature creator to unlock all of the parts for the actual game, I haven't heard anything that says one way or another yet
-
Spore is only $9.99?
-
The Spore Creature Creator Full version. You can get the quarter content version for free.
The actual game "Spore" wont come out till later this year, September I think.
This is like a sneak peak of one of its aspects. -
The demo version of the CC is leaked, by the way. You can probably find it on torrent sites or a direct download link if you look around.
Actually, I have the Megaupload link. I can post it here if it's OK. -
It's not, you better edit your post FAST.
-
Yeah. Not allowed.
-
According to sites,we should expect quite a few options to be available. If the demo proves to be interesting, I`m getting this game no matter what.
-
Same here. I'm heading to a Gamestop on Tuesday to for the S:CC. Can't wait!
-
So only "part" of the game is $9.99? Then how much will the final retail version cost?
-
Who knows, probably your standard 49.99 or 59.99 USD.
-
hahah that is awesome. This game better be amazing. Selling part of the game long before the game comes out. GENIUS!

so this game is like what? I looked at there site and I dont see what is so great about it. I only played one game that reminds me of it in the past and that was monster rancher. It was ok because I was young and it was cool that the game let you put in your music cd's and dvds and stuff and would read the code off it and give you a monster based on that code, some of them being ultra rare and only obtainable by that certian cd or dvd.
I had some cool monsters in my collection, but the game ultimately became borning rather fast.
I think I will D/L the free creature creator just to play around with it and post my creations so we can compare. -
I don't even fully know what this game is about. But I do know there was a kid at work a year ago (he was let go awhile ago aswell). Was one of those strange kids, the kind that did not know how to be quiet. The kind that would follow you to the bathroom while still talking about whatever the heck he was talking about.
Was going on and on about this game. So I am worried lol. -
Spore is from the creator of the Sims, SimCity, etc. His name is Will Wright.
This will be something like a "God-Game." You will take a life-form from single-celled organism all the way to galactic spanning civilization. Along the way you will come into contact with other species, many created by other players and downloaded from a central repository at Maxis or EA or whoever is hosting the server directly to your game universe. There will be Wars, Diplomacy, etc.
In other words, the hype for this game is absolutely massive among most PC gamers who are familiar with old-school Will Wright, Peter Molyneux, etc. I am honestly surprised you guys have not heard more about it! -

this game looks way too childish for me too want to play
-
The CC demo made this 99.9% chance buy for me, so much customization. It interested me before, now im fascinated.
-
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
Meh not much customizing. drag and drop parts and then shift them 2 or 3 ways for size and position. From what was locked looks like the full version is nothing more than 2 more pages of parts and paint jobs.
None of that matters at all if the actual game is crap tho.
Demo runs smooth 1680x1050 maxed out on my c90s. So seems like it wont be too hard to play specs wise. -
Huh? Someone needs to take a closer look at the editor, methinks...
The clever thing isn't the ready-made parts, but the freedom you have to combine limbs -
Well, if you make decisions based upon superficial things, your loss. Will Wright has yet to make a bad game, so I'm ready to give him the benefit of the doubt.
And Jalf, I want to see how the LOLmonster would do.
-
Love the afroman! This is game is gonna be awsome...

The only issues I see with the game from reading the main site is that its all single player and all you can do really is trade creatures. Where is the fun in that?
It really needs an online competition mode. I mean thats the reason pokemon did so great and all these games of this type have always worked. I mean even monster rancher for playstation the game I was comparing it too had vs mode. Your friend brings his creatures into your game via a memory card so you can fight it out.
The idea of competition gives you a reason to level up your creatures, and heck even a hardcore mode would be cool where loss = perma death (but optional mode of course)
Just single player only... I dunno how long that would keep me hooked. -
I'm not sure I see the big difference. If your friend can bring his creature, and you can import it into your game, what more do you need?
If you don't think singleplayer games can be successful, or keep people hooked, I invite you to take a look at the Sims franchise.
It's a sandbox game, basically. For you to goof around in, experiment and explore. It doesn't try to be everything to everyone. -
The idea with this kind of game isn't to "level up your creature". The point is to tweak things and see what happens. If all you do is try to get your creature to "max level" as quick as possible like its some sort of Action RPG, you are missing the point. It's like playing SimCity with the only goal being to get the biggest buildings. What's fun is to see how different layouts work, not to try to build carbon copies of the same megalopolis.
-
Yep,you're basically a genetic engineer
-
ViciousXUSMC does have a point though. It's anyone's guess if this will be able to keep people hooked for months at a time. Some people, probably. You or I? Well, who knows. I did spend a week or two on The Sims once, and I've enjoyed SimCity quite a bit too.
Black & White too.
But I mostly see Spore as a toy you can pull out to goof around with from time to time. I doubt I'll dedicate half a year of my life to playing it nonstop, like I did with Medieval: Total War. But perhaps I'll pick it up again once every year or so instead, and play around with it for a few days, and then put it down again until next year.
In any case, I've had plenty of fun with the editor so far, so I don't see why the full game shouldn't be entertaining as well.
-
Yeah, it is looking an aweful lot like B&W, at least in some phases of the game. Not necessarily a bad thing though.
-
What phases of the game? thought the demo lets you create the bugger and make it dance or something
-
From reading about it, the civilization phases of the game look kind of like B&W without the creature. You might get more direct control though, I think.
-
Well, I guess we`ll see pretty soon.
-
Think this will be up for download at midnight tonight, or sometime in the daytime tomorrow (the 17th)?
I wanna fool around with some creatures
-
Neither FF3 nor the spore creature creator are out yet
where are the rewards for being a night owl
-
I wonder that too. I am waiting for the non-pirated release *COUGH* everyone else *COUGH*. Not that it really matters considering it is free...well at least part of it.

use protection. -
I'm using the free version. Don't know if it has been officially released yet. It was on EA's website for a while a few days ago, then got pulled again. I think that's how it was "leaked".
I don't think anyone have got access to the "paid" version yet, legally or otherwise. -
Spore is essentially Next Next Gen EVO but you don't get to marry the earth goddess in it
-
Can't help but laugh at that. I don't fully understand Spore but will buy the CC to get a better idea of what it's all about. I do like the idea of being able to share the creatures with others. I wonder (maybe someone has an answer) but as your creature evolves does the other copies of your creature evolve at the same rate or are the populated creatures at the state in which they were populated into someone else's system?
-
My understanding is that once they distribute to someone else's game, they evolve seperately from you. However, you an get seeded by the same person multiple times.
