    Hi,

I don't know if I'm gonna buy the regular version of Spore on Sept 7th or if I'm gonna spend 30 more bucks for the Galactic Edition. What do you think about it ?? Which one are you going to buy, if you plan to buy the game of course ?

I don't see the point in getting the galactic edition, unless you're a collector and really love spore, especially since it's 60% more expensive with absolutely no additional game content.

I'll get the plain old regular edition.

Get the regular edition. The extra content editions aren't worth it anymore imho. Gone are the days of maps and cards and other cool stuff...

I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around what spore actually is. Seems like a SIMS game but with a galactic twist. If that's the case, no thanks.

I'd say it's kinda like Civ but on a galactic level and with lots of customization (e.g. your creatures, vehicles, buildings, music, etc.).

    Here's a preview with some in-game vids: http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/spore/901898p1.html

Wow. What are they thinking?! I'd get it if it were maybe $10-15 more but without additional content, that's pretty much a rip-off.

I too am drawn to spore for some reason. Mainly a FPS/MMO person (excluding sins of a solar empire) but this looks promising!

Oh, that actually doesn't sound too bad. Still not worth $30 though, IMO.

the $30 is good value IMO. It just depends whether you actually want the stuff. I do.
