Happy to report that Spore is running great on my m1330. I have the settings on a mix of mostly medium and high and the game always stays at the 30fps cap. There are times when I see it dip into the mid 20s, but that isn't going to hurt anything in a game like spore. Here are some screens of the first four stages--my FRAPS fps counter didn't show up in these screens for some reason, but the FPS was at a constant 30. My specs:

    2.2ghz Core 2 Duo
    3gb DDR2-667
    128mb 8400m GS

Does it really look like that or is it because of the mix of medium-high settings?
It looks kinda lifeless and empty...

It does look like this. The game is WAY overhyped. I wouldn't be too critical if I'd say this game fails as the game the said it'll be.

It's fun for the first two-four hours until you reach Space Age. Trust me, then it gets boring fast, and practically every Spore-gamer agrees with this.

If you want a little more detail in the environment, upping the planet and lighting quality settings will do that for you. I chose not to because that brings my fps down into the 20s.

And yes, I agree this game is overhyped. They tried to include every type of game genre, and failed with each. The first stage is like an old arcade game (you only use the arrow keys), the second is like a bad mmo and the last three are simple RTSs. I think the game does have potential though, the community aspects are pretty neat.

Yep, my Acer ASpire 5315 runs Spore great! Altough with all settings in low.

Still, since it is a 2.0ghz celeron i've never thought i could play it in my pc!

Even if the game is disappointing (which I highly doubt) I can say that if there's an award for best packaging, the GE should win it. Very impressive.

I just got home with my GE but haven't bothered to install it yet. I shall reserve judgement on the game until I've played it for a week or so.

As far as I can tell, no matter what difficulty level, or how much time you spend on each stage, there just isn't a whole lot of content. Most of the time is spent doing the same little chores in order to move on--not much depth.

the first 3 stages went by REALLY fast, the civilization stage sucks and the space age stage is taking forever.\
    cell-20 minutes,creature- 1 hour, tribe-45 min, civilization-1 hour30,space age-2:30 hours and still going
if you played any game ever you'll get through the first 4 stages really fast.
i still like the game though. ;)

Heh, honestly the space age is "the" game. And I'm pretty sure everyone who bought the game (should) knew that anyway. And while I wasn't that impressed (and it isn't that involved) the concept is still executed quite well. It's enjoyable (mindless entertainment, good break from counterstrike) at the very least. That's my 2 cents.

    The game is awesome, period.
You wont find MUCH fun if you download this game (piracy), because of the downloadable content n stuff...

But its sure funny when you see Spore-Creature-Created male genitalia running around the map xD... the creature creator is surely a big feature, and VERY complete.. :)

I will agree that the creators are fun. The creature creator was nice and I liked the vehicle creator a lot too, but I just think the game is lacking in the gameplay department--they went for quantity rather than quality.

Just noting that this game runs decently on a 5200FX GO, as well as integrated cards :) The actual game and the DRM however.... :/ I wouldn't recommend supporting EA if you use more than one computer or are upgrading your pc in the near future.

    Download content? : D
The only edge the bought version has is automatically downloaded creatures, while others must manually place them in Creatures folder.
But then again the "other" version of Spore allows you unlimited times to install the game, while your bought version is limited to 3. :)

The 3 Installs thing is a common misconception. it states you and install and uninstall the game on the same computer as many times as you want. the 3 installs kicks in when you make a drastic hardware change or install the games on a different PC.
