Stalker won't launch...xrCore.dll

Hey, So bought Stalker on Steam since it was only $30 and had been wanting to try it out.... but, it won't load.... does the same thing each time, and can't figure it out. Googled it and searched here, but couldn't find any solutions or ideas what the problem might be, so thanks for any help.

See the Stalker splash screen, then get the XRay Engine crash detected by BugTrap screen, which says:


XR_3DA.exe caused BREAKPOINT in module "c:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\stalker shadow of chernobyl\bin\xrCore.dll" at 001B:00C97CB5, xrDebug::backend()+165 byte(s)

Thanks for any help, have no idea what's the problem, running 169.09 drivers on a toshiba X205 SLi1 under Vista32 w/ SP1, and no other game has given me any problems.

 

A corrupted installation perhaps? Try reinstalling again and see if the situation improves.
