Anyone have an extra one? The wife's going home for a month and I was thinking of giving it a try, but I'd like to see how it plays first.

    Welcome to bachelorhood! :p

Don't they have a free trial period or anything? I think they're going free to play soon anyhow.

Thanks! :p A break every now and then is good I think.

The buddy system is the way they do trials, I think it's to keep server load down. The issue is that I don't know anyone who plays the game.

it's going f2p very soon, but possibly not soon enough for your timeframe. Looks like the date is January 17th?

F2P? Sucks for those who bought lifetime memberships prior to release.

I played STO briefly and enjoyed it for the 50hrs< total I had logged on it.

The game could of been much better if it was designed by Blizzard/Bioware. Cryptic/Atari promised unique content, new races, etc. and gave us scraps. They're more worried about the sales figures from the virtual store and monthly fees revenue rather than focusing on what they promised customers.

Star Wars The Old Republic released today (MMO) as well if you find STO isn't for you ;)
