i would have preffered tho protagonist going into the Unknown Regions, and just finishing off the story, in a single player mode, i dont like MMO's so i dont think i will be getting this one :(

    *yawn*

An MMO where everyone will be standing around too busy reading walls of text and NPC dialog trees.

Sigh, a great series ruined by making it into a MMO.

The only way I'll be playing is if they made it with no monthly fees.

while I love Kotor. I think this is a bad move. there's just no way possible for an MMO to deliver the awesome story plots and detail that Kotor is known for. So yeah I agree I much rather see Kotor 3 than an MMO. That feeling that Kotor creates of being a highly important character in the unfolding events of the universe, will be replaced with being one of millions.

they could probably still use the same leveling up system, just there will be no story and I kill for good stories.

MMOs can have a main story. Most people just seem to ignore them.

the best way out of this situation that would be appreciated by everyone including me would be simply building kotor 3 and adding mmo thingy as a multiplayer layer :D

    agreed?

Yep...anyone who played EQ1 for the long haul knows that an MMO can have a background, history, story, etc., FAR more complex than any stand alone RPG...and additionally can grow along the way. Just takes the right developer and not selling it to SoE...seems lots of MMOs die after going to SoE...

hmmm could it possibly be the main story, but say a CO-OP with other people? like your party is other people online? that would be fine for me

It would have been nice to have a KotOR 3 before they went the MMO route, but there's only so much "amnesia" beginnings I can take. KotOR can work as an MMO though, but it won't have an engrossing story as the previous two games. An overall story arc would work though where players are motivated to run missions for their factions and the most successful faction could end up determining where the arc leads.

They would also need to make sure that the Force capable classes are balanced with the non-force classes. Maybe have it take way longer to level up and have them as mandatory PVP classes. I would prefer it if the whole game was PVP based though, but that won't happen.

I would have preferred a single player game, but I'm still jumping out of my chair at the thought of this game.

Well I suppose a single-player game would be good but I think an MMO would be way better, mainly because im an MMO freak. :D

I agree single player you play once, take a month or two off and go back to it one more time whereas mmo will keep you entertained for years. Also, I find multiplayer games to be so much more fun. @anyone who says you can't have a story in an mmo, what about guildwars which even had cut scenes or star wars galaxies inwhich you could obtain missions from your favorite characters like han and chewie. I still remember when I spent a full day on tatooine, one of many planets with player cities in which you could have a house, own a store, or a cantina, or a hospital. But I remember the day when I found jabbas palace and spent the entire day trying to complete missions to gain access to see jabba and boba fet. good times.

Yeah I totally agree with you.The story should be great, seeing as KOTOR I&II were amazing storylines. The maps will most definatley be huge to keep up with other MMORPG maps. The classes will be cool aswell, imagine you are a Sith leading an army of other Sith on a unaware group of jedi about to get slaughtered.Or a bounty hunter waiting and waiting for his target to walk down some alleway or a discreet location, takes out his flamethrower and hello 1 million credits.

Star Wars fans like myself have been waiting so long for a Star Wars MMORPG.SW:Galaxies didnt really make, but this??This is going to be huge if they get it right.
