    Anyone else see this yet?

    Is it me, or does it look like Star Wars meets World of Warcraft?

    I had such high hopes for it too.

    Star Wars meets world of warcraft is not a bad formula at all, IMO. I don't play it anymore, but WoW kept me interested for four years. I'm not sure what you don't like about wow, but lets face it, those old school grindfest/heavy penalty MMOs are long gone.

    Honestly do not know why so many people are infatuated with this game. It looks more boring then watching my grandma knit some sweaters.

    I suppose it's all the Star Wars fans + Bioware fans out there.

    Galatic Battlegrounds = Age of Empires

    Battlefront = Battlefield

    Empire at war = total war

    Just wondering what all they could have changed to make it "not like World of Warcraft". I am quite confused by people's attitudes of thinking 100% of WoW's formula is garbage. I don't think WoW is for everyone, but a game with its popularity must have at least part of the formula correct, even 10%?

    I'll tell yah what, you're in for several years of disappointment if you think you will find a new MMO coming out that takes absolutely 0 elements from World of Warcraft.

    This looks fun as anything, I can't wait. Actually watching it makes me want to go out and play WoW again. But then I think to myself, is it really possible to "succeed" in WoW without high level raiding and guilds and constant hours late at night, that's my big beef with WoW.

    Edit: just noticed I said big beef. haha.

    It's a little too cartoony for my liking but I'll still be giving it a shot. I hope the combat animations get a serious smoothing over too.

    Guys, the game doesn't come out for another 9 months at least, maybe more, the graphics and such can be fine-tuned later.

    From what I've seen of things so far it looks like co-op version of a scripted single player game (and people tend to play with a single player mentality). The problem I have with that is there's really only two things to do...repeat the same content ad nauseum or wait for devs to add new content that lets you forget about the old.

    I prefer an open player-driven sandbox type of mmorpg world where the communities tend to be more interesting.
