i have a thinkpad 600...an antique and im trying to play the ancient game called starcraft broodwar.

well i got it to work but the problem is that it dosenst run full screen but only the center of the screen. i do believe it has to do with my bad graphics card but how do i make it so it would run on full resolution?

    EDIT: thinkpad 600 [2001]
w/ all the basic "came with" parts. and a Toshiba hdd2168 20gb hard drive. and videocard ill tell in 5 seconds
    EDIT #2: videocard: neomagic magicgraph128zv /ZV+/XD driver

this happened to me, and yes, more info please!

if its vista and you recently updated the drivers(graphics particularly), that might be it. i had that same problem. i fixed it by rolling back the drivers and waited for the next update. all my games run normally now.

it is probably a scaling issue, the game only runs at 800 x 600, so if you don't have scaling on, it gets centered on the screen. That card is very old, and I have no idea how you would change the scale setting. Although, I do know where to change it in Nvidia control panel, but that isn't an nvidia card.

The game runs at 640x480 actually :D I know because I ran it in 97` when it was released on a monitor that only supported that res.

    I think it's like Diablo 2

640x480 default and you can change it to 800x600 in the options.

That`s it, I`m searching for my cd and reinstalling Starcraft. Brb in 10 min.

EDIT : installed it and it runs at 640x480, no option to change resolution. I know because I took a screenshot and checked the size...

ya the screen size 640-480 is the original but on my newer monitor, it can run full resolution. not scaled down. what do you think is the solution to make it run full screen on the 2001 thinkpad 600?

So you`re saying the game is running windowed? Just check the properties of the shortcut of the game and see if Windowed is "checked" . Uncheck it if so...if not...maybe the video driver needs an update.

It will be in your graphic settings, Im not sure about your card but for ati and nvidia they both have a "scale resolution" setting.
