Im back~!

like a 12 hour drive from Tennessee back to Florida. Got most of the unpacking done, but a ton of laundry to do.

I had no internet in the cabin so have a lot of catching up to do. Going to try to get back to the daily grind and make sure I get on this Friday for the NBR SC2 game night.

Around 9 or 10PM EST, usually.

Last Friday, without that VisciousXUSMC Glue™ to hold us together, there wasn't much of an NBR game night, though.

Haha... it looks like I'm the only one who put that I'm a "Master" lol! I didn't realize everyone was so humble around here. I am obsessed with the game lol. Between my 2 accounts I've played over 1100 league matches, not including my hundreds of custom games, etc. I have also watched hundreds of pro matches and follow Husky, PsyStarcraft, HD, and a couple others. I did change my status from average to above average and that seems about right as a mid level platinum player.

Taking just one week off the game though with my brothers wedding has crippled my game quite a bit, and the weeks before that converting over to more custom games (darn you zerg hunter rpg) than ladder games also hurt.

Its a fun game to play, but its causing a rift where I want to dedicate more to the game and the more things get in the way the less I kinda want to play since I wont be as good.

Like right now I kinda really want to play Dog Fighter and Fallout Vegas but instead know I have to play SC2 just to barely keep up

 

I need more 1v1 practice ._.

Horyay! I got promoted to diamond today... and I barely lost any points too. I had about 1600 plat points, and now I've got 1548 diamond points. I thought I would lose more than that moving up a league. It's been my goal for a long time to get to diamond, and my dream has finally been realized.

 

What was you platinum win/lose ratio just before you got promoted?

I'm trying my damnedest to move up the ladder, but alas, I am stuck in bronze.

Once you get higher in plat, you play mostly diamond players anyway, so shouldn't be too big of a change. At least I hope not...

The key I think to moving up is to keep winning, and then it'll have you start playing against players in higher divisions, and if you keep winning against those better players, you'll keep player higher and higher level players, until it finally moves you up to the division of players you maintain a 50/50 w/l ratio with. I got promoted from bronze straight to plat because I kept beating bronze, then silver, then gold, then plat, and even a few diamonds while still in bronze. It finally moved me up to plat after about 30 games of consistently winning. I don't think it'll take that long on average.

Congrats! You really lost almost no points! I recalling losing like 30% of mine I also remember like a week after I hit diamond, I went on like a 20 game losing streak. I think that's pretty common, so you better watch out

Too bad I know you're in plat in 2v2!

 

I blame you for being a godlike partner and made us go pretty much almost undefeated in 2v2 so far

I am going to be rusty and probably more zombie than man but I plan to be on for our SC2 game night tonight.

I just scheduled the even on steam to remind anybody that uses their steam client.

Id really like to see you guys on the TS3 server too, probably just as much fun to shoot the breeze as it is to play the game.

I worked all night last night, been up watching the kids all day today, wife works in the day so I can turn in for a short nap maybe 7PM then be up @ 10 to play.

 

I shall oversleep as usual!

 

I had a less than satisfactory experience last night, as my wife was out, and my game time was interruped twice by a crying child. This resulted in me staying up far too late, only to achieve middling results (more wins than not, but still not at my best). Anyway, so while I would very much like to be on tonight, I'm not sure if plans have been made for me.

On the other hand, wife's family is having an out-of-town event on Saturday, and as she needs to give her brother a lift, there isn't enough room in the car for me to go. Gee, a whole Saturday to myself ... should I be productive, or should I put in some solid daylight SC2 time?

I may jump on for one game. Having a big B-day party for the boys this weekend, so have to wrap a few more gifts, assemble a couple, and pick up a little bit before family comes over. So depends on when boys get to bed and I get done.

Haven't played in a while, but that's ok, I'm usually just the sloth. But yeah would be great if people could get on teamspeak. might help out a bit too. I am good for backup fodder in emergency situations but other than that, don't expect too much, lol. One thing though is I finally realized marauders aren't as useless as I thought. Problem is usually when I build them I wish I built twice as many marines because I get air attacked.

I'll be on teamspeak soon, haven't installed it just cause I'm going to reformat soon and I'll jsut install it then.

 

Had a lot of fun, was good to be back in the mix after missing last week.

Everybody got on like at 1 instead of 10

We had a good party of 6 then suddenly 4 people wanted in, good timing though I needed to eat and I dont think it would have been good for me to stay up much longer running on only 3 hours of sleep.

I hope they give us the power to have 8 person parties one day, I dont like how there are 4v4 maps & games + spectate slots but the party size is maxed to 6.

 

Oh really? I have a b-day party this weekend too! My oldest just got one year older. So thats another reason I need to get some rest.

Even though the party size is limited, you can still invite others to join the game after you start it up. Agreed, kinda silly to limit party size to six. Now I must sleep for an hour, and then get up and watch the GSL finals!!! WHOOP!! WHOOP!

Vicious was on, now he's gone. Oh well. Lost another bronze 1v1. Another day in the life of a lonely Starcraft marine.

 

Yeah I was on waiting for everybody, then got off for my son. He is really sick right now with pneumonia/bronchitis.

Im so worn out got no sleep last night because of it, and looks like tonight may be the same. When he gets in real bad cough fits I have to spend like 15 minutes giving him nebuizer treatments.

I just tried again here @ Midnight since most weekends a lot of people get on between 12-1AM but looks like without "Vicious Glue" nobody sticks around

 

Haha, I logged a bit last night just to go collect from single player achievements.

I hate Lost Viking so much now......

Vicious, it's cool, take care of your son man. They'll always be a next friday. Although now I'm kind ramping myself up for the eventual steam sale that will accompany black friday though I'll still be playing SC2 regardless.

 

I beat lost viking like 13 times in a row. It gets harder each time.

I was so good at it that I actually just gave up and died and lost all like 14 of my guys because I was well beyond the gold achievement.

I never had to use a bomb until like the 5th play though, my best suggestion is to stick with the spread shot weapon its the best one.

 

I never touched lost viking I find it HARD

 

I should have frapsed it and impressed the world but I dont think I can bother to do it again since its a rather boring game (esp after playing it for like 4 hours straight like I did)

I still wish I could use my lost viking gold achievement icon as my avatar in SC2. Actually I think I will make it my avatar here on NBR at least that can happen.

Im a sad panda when it comes to black friday I have already spent well past what funds I have for myself so all the goodies soon to come I will have to pass up.
