so this means that it is ready to ship in about 4 years.

 

Excellent!!! Hopefully we'll see the actual release late this year. I'd be eternally grateful if it will work decently on my x4500...

Such a long time ago since i waited for 3 years to actually get a copy of star craft... realease dates came and went in the mid 90's only to finally bless us with its presence in 98.

Its not like we should have expected a speedy return. It did take them about 3 years to "actually" release star carft 1. So i expect we should see a game around 2011

 

Omg i cant opt in it says " There was a problem sending your information to battle.net. Please check your internet connection and close all applications and try again"

Edit : Nvm i fixed it. I just disabled avast and my firewall and it fixed the problem

 

This demo is for the 1st of the 3 games promised? From the little leaks we've had here and there it seems the basic gameplay formula has not changed much since the 1st iteration.

 

What configurations do you think they are looking for?

 

Configurations going from an Intel X4500 up to Nvidia GT260-280 should be part of the Blizzard test bed machines. However I suspect the absolute high-end machine won't be as extreme as those demanded for games like Crysis and Call of Duty 4.

 

I guess the game will be ABLE to played with an intel X3100 but at the lowest settings. who knows...
But for GOOD graphics I guess at least an nvidia 8600gt.

So lame... before running installing the scanner, you have to scroll to the bottom of the disclaimer before it lets you press Agree?! that's preposterous.

 

Disable your firewall and antivirus then try it. It worked for me

Right, but I guess how are they choosing beta testers? You think everyone that applies will get a chance? Probably not. They will probably look for certain configurations for feedback. Or will it be completely random?

 

And anyone that doesn't own one has to be nuts and can't call themself a gamer of any sorts!

Anyone that plays games MUST have at least a Starcraft, Diablo, or Warcraft game in their inventory!

 

how do you know that it worked? I ran the beta hardware scan thing 3 times but my profile isn't updated with any of the information or anything indicating that it was uploaded.

 

Don't forget the classic, in need of an update, Lost Vikings!

 

Same problem here, I've just finished a clean install so no AV or windows firewall up either =/.


Edit: Finally got it to work by redownloading the file + turning on the firewall with an added exception.

Aww crud i am at work on my EEE, I hope this isnt time sensitive as I cant load this on my desktop till I get home.

 

i used to have sc but that was years ago

 

They'll probably look at it in the order of:

1. Location
2. GPU
3. CPU
4. Experience (although this might supplant 2&3 since there are legions of potential applicants for Blizzard product beta-testing).

Signed up when I got home, worked fine first try and it was very fast.

I am pretty sure i actually already had my account set for beta invites but never hurts to update.

 

I signed up and everything is good to go. I sure hope they pick me.

 

im sure they are more interested in lower rigs than killer ones like my desktop, I may re-register with my laptop when I get it back, though its pretty killer too.

 

That's what I'm wondering. Maybe I will register with my Lenovo with HD 3450 graphics, or N10J with 9300m GS. More likely to get picked!

 

I just hope they're interested in my 7600. Its fairly old now, so it has a chance!

 

Do you think you'll be required to use that PC? I see they store your network card MAC address and may only allow THAT MAC address.

 

It still copied your PC specs didn't it? They are probably going to want you to use the system they scanned.

You would probably kick my butt, but thats ok I would have great fun losing! I was a big starcraft fan in the day.

Starcraft and Warcraft II were the only RTS games I liked to play as a RTS, Warcraft III I liked but only the custom games, I didnt like how the gameplay changed for the regular RTS game mode.

 

I just play for fun. We can be on the same team and kick the computer's butt!
