Apparently the US beta servers are sort of up. Just patch away and on login screen just spam connection attempts and you'll somehow get through ._.

so maybe it'll be up and running decently in a day or two. I'm actually more excited about the single player. I have a pre-order (cost $40 couldn't resist), but chose free shipping which says 5-7 days. sigh. Oh well, I can wait.

 

Yeah I'm gonna give it a day or two to straighten up too :/ I'm reading quite a lot of issues especially with matchmaking and game creation.

That aside they also did quite a few changes not mentioned in patch notes ._. And the Insane AI cheats from what i heard

also they added fruit and sports to the map editor (various fruit and uh baseball, soccer, hockey, tennis, etc balls and clubs and bats are in the map editor for some reason now)

 

Yeah I feel like there are 2 groups of players:
- the guys that are hardcore into competitive ladder multiplayer, and
- the ones who want more SC lore and story and will play multiplayer mostly with USM games and real games casually

I'm one that's all for the trilogy, think of how much story we can get!

 

So I just played my first placement match and noticed a HUGE FPS drop. I was getting ~40ish FPS on Ultra at 1920 x 1200. Now before you guys say 40 FPS is good, my 4870 in Crossfire achieved 90+ FPS. I tried lowering my resolution to 800 x 600 and everything on low. I got 40 FPS capped. Is anyone with 5870 having trouble or is it just Dell ruining this computer with the driver issue?

 

I guess the question is it officially up?

ah man I was really hoping this would be an open beta. I guess I wont be able to play this til the 27th...blizzard should at least let the rest of us download the game so we can play single player I dont see any harm in that.

 

well there is no single player in the beta.


you also have to log in to do anything (including authenticating the map editor. you have to log in at least once this phase).


getting prepared to how it will be when sc2 launches live.

Looks like it finally adds AI difficulties! Woohoo, i'm not as big on PVP and I am just teaming up with a friend against some hard AI.

yeah they added different AI types.

The insane ai blatantly cheats. Others...no they don't cheat

 

I heard that the insane AI gets 7minerals/5 gas per trip instead of the usual 5/4 o_o

 

Just got done playing 2 vs AI round with a buddy of mine. I didn't see anyway to adjust AI, but as bad as both of us are, we smoked them pretty easily. I hope final game AI is a little tougher (but not too tough).

 

Tried going in yesterday, it was too laggy to play.

 

Not many custom games when I got on, need to wait for it to populate again.

 

some of the custom games are glitched because of what happened to the map editor.
