Hi, I know fairly ordinary laptops are getting increasingly powerful and gaming laptops aren't as necessary for those wanting to play less demanding games. I can't get a desktop, i'm in college and I was wondering if there is a laptop out there (My absolute price cap is 750 dollars) that can run starcraft 2 on at least all high settings and possibly some utlra without struggling or overheating too much? Thanks! edit - I should also mention that 15 or 15.6 inches is my ideal size, I have a 17 incher that is much too big and heavy for my purposes. Build quality is also an important factor as my current laptop is falling apart at the seams...

Well if I were to be able to stretch to that price that's practically in the range of the 800 dollar model of the Lenovo y500, how does that laptop compare to the lenovo?
-
Depends on if the Y500 has a 650M or 750M GPU, but still better either way.

IdeaPad Y410p High-Performance 14" Multimedia Laptop from Lenovo | Lenovo (US)
820$ you get the y410p with 1600x900 screen AND GT 755M+ the i7 CPU

I know i'm being picky here but 14 inches is a wee bit too small...im definitely looking into the toshiba satellite with interest though

The 1080p screen will be very hard on the weak 740M GDDR3 GPU. 900p with a 750M/755M GDDR5 will be much more future-proof.

At least for me it is, and I also have a 15" screen. In my experience, 900p or less resolution on 15" screen is extremely small and everything looks enormous. And if you lower the font size or DPI, then everything becomes fuzzy. I would go with native 1080p just for school work alone. And my guess that will be the primary tasks for this college laptop. -
Except the Y400/Y410p is 14" 900p. Then there's always the Y500/Y510p for 15.6" 1080p.
