On Warcraft 3, they would never have server maintenance and battle.net ran fine, in fact, it ran better than battle.net v2 in SC2.

Even if they have to run server maintenance, why must they take down all of the servers, why don't they keep some running? They couldn't possibly have just one server.

And even if they really needed to take down all of the servers, why do they need 8 hours to run server maintenance?

I don't know any other online game that does this other than SC2 and maybe WOW.

What am I supposed to do with my life for the next 8 hours?! I really have to find another game.

I'm guessing it's because of all the extra features they added to bnet v2. There's always the SP campaign and/or playing against bots?

Thank god I have the SEA servers :3

Besides, Battlenet 2.0's still quite new so of course it takes time to get it to stabilize like the old Battlenet. Give them some time to straighten it out so future games that uses Battlenet 2.0 won't have the current problems :)

Also, this maintenance of theirs might be their downtime to ban hackers too >.>

One would think the behemoth that Blizzard is, that they would have backup servers so they could take them down for maintenance with minimal hiccups.

Battle.net 2.0 is both SC2 and WoW (for now). I know WoW could use the server maintenance Tuesdays due to the amount the game changes constantly.

I also want to know what "content" I'm downloading every time I search for a 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, or 4v4.

well, servers are back up, and it is still glitchy so i don't know what they were doing, maybe they were trying to save on their electric bills by turning off the servers
