Anybody have any links to some charts or benchmarks of Starcraft 2 on GTX 460M @ 1080p.

    I'm curious what frames I would get with a Asus G53JW @ 1080p.

About 30-35FPS on ultra but on customs that have lots of units, it's best to go on high or else you'll lag.

Depends on the map. But i kinda find 30-35 a bit low for a gtx 460m on all ultra. I have a GTS 360m and can play at 30-40 on most maps, customs i gotta turn it down when you get to mass units otherwise you get 1 fps lol.

No custom maps, just regular ladder, especially 4v4.

So HIGH settings @ 1080p should be playable?

Would like to be in to be in the 60's all the time, including battles. Or does that needs stuff toned down to MEDIUM ?

I've only ever done a few 4vs4's, but it can work in Ultra if you put the shadows on medium and disable the vertical sync.

Theres a way to tweak shadow settings to give a huge performance boost with little to no loss in quality. I would post the forum link, but it looks like the BNET forums are down right now. So you could have shares and everything else on ultra and basically all this does is lower the shadow resolution a bit which gets you a pretty nice fps boost.

hey man with RTSs you don't even need 30FPS I have not noticed any difference in playing dawn of war 2 from 20-60FPS It all looks the same and runs smooth. RTSs are usually solid from 20-30FPS but of course 30+ is best but dropping into 20s on and off you won't even notice.

PLUS add a 5% overclock and u'll be golden. I got my 260m to 580 980 1450 which is really good for a 260 lol. You can easily squeeze 5% out of a 460m. As long as you have a good cooling system. My g51j has terrible cooling so i am modding the case lol.

I have my 460m getting an average of 45-60 fps on Starcraft II on 1920x1080 ultra everything (no mods of any kind) no vsync. The lowest I've seen get down to is about 31 fps on single player for maybe a half second (haven't measured the fps on multiplayer yet). I have my 460m overclocked to almost 20% over stock clocks to achieve those numbers.

    Stable Overclock
    Core: 800
    Shader: 1600
    Memory: 1400

    Stock Clocks
    Core: 675
    Shader: 1350
    Memory: 1250

    Core 815
shader 1630 and memory 1500, the GTX460 is extremly easy to oc with MSI afterburner

There is almost no difference visually between medium-high-ultra settings. There is only a slight glow that is added to the shields/swords on ultra vs. high settings. Just as long as it can run medium settings, you'll probably won't notice a difference. :)

    Note: I'm a SC2 addict. I know what I'm talking about :).

30 frames per second can be an issue, even in an RTS. Just balance performance/quality to taste. I'm personally happy to give up pretty much whatever it takes to get SC2 in the 45+ range. Also, apparently you need to set your mouse sensitivity to not a multiple of 5. Crazy blizzard wonkyness.

also this might sound stupid but if you play as Zerg there always a good reason to turn the setting down a bit.

Just your usual 3dmark 06, vantage, and 11 benches. I never took the time to screenshot the SCII FPS sorry. :( I just used FRAPS to get the FPS.

I'm in the same boat. I'm currently running the new nvidia beta 266.35 drivers and I can overclock to 825/1450/1650 without any problems. I'm just wanting the guys over at NiBiTor to update their database to allow the 460m's to over-volt. That should yield some better results! :)

I'm on 265.66 drivers and on a Asus g73jw, overclocked to 800/1600/1480, and i can say i run SC II on ultra pretty good.
The only problem is that sometimes when playing SC II my lappy shuts down itself, like if someone pulled the plug, and it's not overheaiting because MAX temp while on SC2 is 76C
So, still figurng out what to do ^^

Also, what is your temperatures on your OC 460m?
    mine iddles at 48-52s

^^ Mine idles around 43-45C. Max temp playing Starcraft is around 73C overclocked. No idea why your's would shutdown like that. That's weird.....

You'd get more with a G73jh if you can find one :p Just throwing it out there and with G73jh being phased out, very sure you can find one cheaper too. Won't have your USB 3.0 though or 3D, but then I think 3D is terrible anyways. Well just throwing it out there.

is 48-52C idle too much? or is just that it live in a hotter city^^

EDIT: Updated to new drivers 266.35, and with 800/1600/1400 idles at 40-43C
Im going to try now SC II to see if i still have this problem

Video memory temperatures aren't recorded, so it could be that, and it could just be that the power supply is flaking out. I know that happens to my Envy 15 sometimes when I overclock and play L4D2, but it doesn't happen regularly.
