Though the article has a bit excess of rating, the points made are quite worrisome. Now its apparent 'no LAN issue' was nothing but the tip of the iceberg in corporate control...![]()

Owning six shares in a company makes less difference than if you don't buy the game. Nobody's gonna care what a guy has to say if he owns 0.00001% stock in a company.

No buy. It's a matter of choice. I don't WANT to be corralled through crappy battle.net 2.0 every time I want to play MP. Real ID is stupid, and NO game should ever want/need to tie into my FB account. And what's with going all Nazi on map creation/usage?
The irony is, that all these restrictions and handicaps only make the X on it's back even LARGER for those nefarious heroes who crack games. They're just asking to be pirated. uh no that I condone that <- disclaimer.
They're deluding themselves if they think they have LAN play on lock down. They may very well succeed in getting their hands on a piece of every major tourney's pie. But for the average gamer... they're going to wait until ... you know.
The posted link is a good read.
I hate how over the past decade PC gaming has gone from selling me a finished product, to selling me a service. -
No but a coalition of gamers who each buy 6 shares could potentially do something. The largest share holder only holds 27mil shares. My point is how many of you ranting here are gonna actually not buy the game. Not many.
-
Which is why I say not buying it is still more effective, because if you buy into the company you're still supporting it. If that same number of "investors" decided to just boycott altogether, that would send a much larger message, and deprive them of making a profit.

I remember the boycott for MW2... many many more people said they would not buy that game that we have saying wont buy SC2.
The results ended up being that only like 1/30 people actually did not buy the game. Infact it seems the stats turned up that people saying they were going to boycott the game were more likely to buy it at release than many other normal gamers
Here was the first evidence when somebody spotted man people on Steam playing the game, that actually signed the boycott petition

Well that link made me sad but I already knew about most of the problems.
Still.. due to my time constraints, i would play it only for single player So..
Guess I am not going to buy it.. but still will play it ;-)
Beta testing it was dandy and all that, but I am not supporting dev's who cant push for their own fruits of work.
