Bug Fixes

Fixed an issue where Ultralisk cleave range was being unintentionally extended by larger targets.

Fixed an issue where the Phoenix's Graviton Beam was automatically canceled if you used it just after the Phoenix reached 50 energy.

Fixed an issue where queuing Return Cargo on a worker would cause it to ignore the built-in delay after it finished gathering.

Fixed an issue where players watching older replays or saved games would experience stuttering.

Fixed an issue where some Mac users were unable to join games properly.

 

Ah looks like they fixed the mining trick. I tried it a few times when I first heard about it but my micro is not good enough to really have it help me.

I think i mined slower with it because it would prevent the workers from auto moving to another mineral patch wen more than 2 workers was on the same one.

 

Haha. Ultralisk cleave bug fixed. That was crazy. Fun while it lasted.

 

I'm so disappointed by them fixing the mineral boosting trick.

It should've stayed.

 

Does this ever happen to anyone else: During the loading screen, bnet states that my opponent is favored, but when I beat my opponent, the summary screen states that I was favored and I only end up getting 4 points.

This has happened to me on multiple occasions.

 

It happens once in a while. Probably your points/skills were very close to each other's but he's ahead before the game starts. But when the game ends it detects you as having the higher skill after winning against him and ended up giving you few points.

Either that or bnet just sucks in remembering who's favored

 

Can't say that's ever happened to me.

I have noticed, however, that if you're in a lower league than your opponent, then it shows your opponent as "Favored" no matter what. However, for your opponent, it can show something different such as "Teams Even" and will get points according to such.

Hm, clearly not a zerosum game...

I've been laddering hardcore on the Korean server.

Already 1250 point diamond over there with my friend's account. It's surprising how terribad some of the Koreans are.

However Koreans are all so good mannered. Everyone "ggs" and no one curses me out.

Also, the mineral boosting trick was unnecessary. The awesome tricks from BW were all very visible to the audience. Mineral boosting is a neat trick in that you can actually get some noticeable boost in minerals early on but how would a spectator ever know outside of a replay.

We need more apparent and amazing micro tricks like Reaver and Muta BW micro in general.

 

wow the nerve of some people....

I was killing time playing a 2 vs A.I. match and I got paired with some guy named Starblaster.

We were in that early mid game phase and I needed to expand. I go outside my main to my natural and he has two scv's just sitting where I needed to put my nexus.

I asked him to move his SCVs and pinged the map. He said nothing and did nothing.

I waited like another minute and asked again and pinged the map, he did nothing and said nothing.

I had to expand so I just killed his SCV because I thought he was so new that he had no clue what I was talking about.

He then rages on me and was like why cant I build my base there?

I told him its my natural he needs to expand to his own natural and pinged the map for him where it was.

He tells me, you have another place you can build to the right of your base, this place is like half way across the map....

So he gets all butt sore and says "I hope you have fun winning alone", and leaves the game.

Lucky for me he sucked and was totally useless so I didnt lose any help and still won the game. I went after the game to message him to tell him I did win but he has me on ignore. (awww)

But yeah kinda ranting because I cant belive he refused to let me have my natural and then after the fact when I got it he left the game and then even went so far as to put me on his ignore list (heck I didnt even know there was one)

Sutch a noob that he has no clue how to play but totally figured out how to use that ignore list pretty fast... wonder why.

Also this was Hard vs AI, why do total noobs try Hard before they have any clue how to play? This is why I cant get my 15 win streak achievement :/

You should watch its build order, I didnt even know how bad he was until I just watched it. Idle SCV's double gas before any buildings, supply blocked, double supply depot... omg its just insane.

 

All the more reason that you try to play with people you know eh I saw you on for a bit and didn't want to bug you so i left

Been playing around with co-op vs ai recently. Haven't had that bad of an experience yet. But there are some pretty clueless people playing it.

What time are you usually online Vicious? Maybe I can help out with your streak achievement. Got NA access up and running

I am usually on Sun-Thur around midnight for an hour or two (but im at work so I dont ladder due to perhaps needing to AFK so I only do custom game or vs AI)

I am on at random during the day at home if the kids are being good, the only time I can really "play" is Friday nights aka the official NBR SC2 game night.

I get on for a few hours after the kids go to bed to play all night till I am too tired to go anymore or until there is nobody online left to play with.

Saturday night I may or may not get on, I have to get up at 5AM to do my 20+ mile mountain bike ride so I usually opt for sleep.

I am really looking forward to this Friday too, i just "built" a new headset so my voice chat will sound really good now.

Unless I am online then by all means skip meals and cleansing and lets get some games going.

I have not played much at all recently and have not done 1v1 in over a week. I actually have more 2v2 games now than 1v1. Win ratio is not bad for all my leagues.

While I can not compete with some of the better players like yourself I think I have been for a while and currently still am the highest # achievement points. I have 3125 right now (been stuck there for a while)

I can get an easy 40 points if I can manage to win the 4 vs 4 insane AI challenge with all Terran. I tried a lot of things and keep getting rolled.

 

For the coop achievements, you just need to find yourself a competent cannon cheeser, and play 15 vs insane. I just did that this weekend and got a crap load of achievement points!

Also Vicious, sorry; but I'm still confused as to what happened last night... I thought my internet died on me, then my computer decided to crash. I logged back in like 10 mins later, but I couldn't find a record of what happened?

 

I got the oh-so-fun "Wating for server: Surrender" option twice last night. I don't think it was my internet ... other people in games I was playing got dropped, last night.

Anyway, that sucks. Vicious had a nice banshee harass going, so I thought we had the edge

 

I never used banshee during my whole SC2 playtime

Then again I never use much air units ._.

Oh and i always see farful online in SC2 xD

 

I'm beginning to really like the banshee. Great harassment unit or to clean up after an attack.

Why all the hate for Terran? For players like me I don't get to play a whole lot, so I play what I know, don't have the time to play other races yet. I'm sure once I get bored with Terran I'll move on to Protoss or Zerg. Probably Protoss because the couple times I played zerg I hate those units.

 

Most of the hate on Terran is due to marauders and siege tanks. Well not so much on siege tanks now but still, marauders. Maybe vikings too Terran simply has an answer on anything the other races can throw at them

But yeah, I'm usually on a decent amount, usually afking in a campaign. I'm still not finished with that I have one more mission to go I think (which I'll hopefully finish this weekend) and then I'd get a lot of achievement points!

Pfft I've been stalking you guys for the past 2 weeks I always see farful and histidine and sometimes random1337. I can catch htwingnut for a few minutes (I poke and run but he never responds).

yeah we had that game for sure, I had the fast 1,1,1 and started to macro up. Tanks and things ready at the main and they just started a push that we saw coming with your observer.

The only thing I did wrong was putting too much attention into the harassment so I lost a bit of macro and didnt expand as fast as I could have.

I wanted to win that game since we did work for it, I sat at that server screen for like 10 minutes and eventually it just said "you were dropped" and when I went back to the main screen you were offline so I got off.

I had fun though, few more matches and we get placed.

 

So I was playing a 2v2 with my friend against some random people on bnet the other day and we got rushed early game by 6 zerglings. It was a large shared ramp and we couldn't wall it off in time (I was Terran and my friend was Protoss). I built a supply depot at 9 SCVs and started a Barracks soon after that one was complete (around 12 or 13 I think). By the time my first marine came out, 6 zergling rushed our bases and there wasn't really anything we could do about it. As a Terran or Protoss player, what could we have done to save our bases?

 

As terran send a scout after your 10 supply depot, as protoss send a probe after your 9 pylon.

This is the first step, if you see that early pool get ready right away to defend.

A wall is ideal, just one marine is all you would need and some scvs to repair to nullify the rush.

If you cant wall in due to a big shared ramp (you could have easy if you both walled in)

Terran - bunker near your mineral line or kite zerglings with marines and put a few scv in the mix to mess up the targeting of the zerglings.

Protoss - chronoboost zealots and pull some probes off the line as well.

With protoss having awall with only a space big enough for one zealot is ideal, then the zerglings can only fight your zealot one at a time and the zealot will easily kill 6 all on his own, by the time you get a 2nd zealot out and a stalker your really safe against zergling pressure.

Don't underestimate the power of your workers. Combined with your forces, they can easily get rid of the initial zergling rush =)

 

Agreed. Initially you want to use your workers to defend. Two workers is about the equivalent of one zergling in terms of combat. You want to make sure to move and surround the zerglings.

 

Sigh. I finally ventured out of practice league 1v1 and first six games got my butt handed to me. I'm ranked 100/100 in my league. How are leagues determined anyhow?

There's plenty of people in the NA server. Just look at the NBR SC2 Friends List Database at Vicious's sig
