    Hey,

    Still evaluating this asus:

    Asus G73JH-RBBX05
    Win 7 Premium 64bit
    5870m
    6gig ddr
    500gig hardrive

Starcraft 2 has never been run on it, so anyways.

I log on fine, but can not see anyones portraits (in my party or even my portrait)

When I go to join i get the circling blue arrow. When a friend starts a game in party I don't get the would you like to join message, but when he cancells game I see that message. Same with single player, just the circle.

Also BFBC2 get me through login, after that it says "can't connect to ea server"

Thanks for any help or link to help!

Sounds like a router/firewall issue. are all your ports open?

Tried disabling firewall, no luck yet. Guess later I could try connecting straight to the cable modem.

    Open to all other suggestions.

Okay I tried my old asus the g71, had no problems playing starcraft 2 over this same connection. Besides disabling the firewall on this notebook is there a way to open even more ports in windows 7.

BFBC2 is also giving me trouble about an error connecting to EA server right after character made.

So nothing else I can try? World of Warcraft works fine, SC2 gets to battle.net and no portraits and can't play games? Gotta be something else to try.

Add: Never mind, turns out Avast was blocking it for some reason, loaded up AVG like on my other and it's good to go :)

I had that problem too but it goes away after i relog... It sounds like a more serious connection issue in ur case though
