So I tried playing SC2 on my T61P (2.2 core 2, 4g ram, 570m FX quadro with latest drivers, win 7 pro 64 edition, latest directx) and it works but it randomly freezes and so I keep having to restart the laptop.

I tried matching the resolution to my native, adding the lines of code, checking vertical sync, using one core, changing drivers, heavy duty fans, etc but none of these provided any solution as the game will randomely crap out at any given moment during gameplay.

So I ask if there is anything else to do to solve this solution or is the game just not playable on this system?

You could try using 8600m GT drivers instead of FX570m drivers.

Also try updating the laptop's bios if you haven't yet. Since the Nvidia graphics cards from that generation are known for failures I think manufacturers like Dell and Lenovo adjusted the fan throttling.

Another thing you could do is use a program like coretemp or evga percision to log the temperature of the CPU and GPU. The laptop could be crashing once it hits a thermal limit. evga Percision will also allow you to set the clock speeds for the GPU so you may want to try underclocking it to see if that resolves the crashing. It may help you identify the problem which is the best first step.
